Amen to that. 3-1 looks good any way you look at it. It's great that we got this far with this record. Now for us to get into the thicker part of our schedule. The next 5 or 6 games will be extremely tough games. We can come out of that stretch any kind of way. Anything from 3-8 to 8-3. Let's hope that we're closer to the 8-3 mark, even if it is sort of pipe dream hoping.
Playoffs? Playoffs? Don't talk to me about Playoffs! I'm just trying to win a game! Playoffs?

Then Texans play the Giants next and then Kansas City, which will take us to our bye week. I hope that we can win one of those while the rest of the division struggles.

Man, to be able to go 3-1 without Cushing and with a weak defense is epic! I would have never guessed the Texans would have such luck. I'm glad the Gmen won last night. Hopefully they will be a bit more complacent, or perhaps not as desperate going into practice this week.

I was encouraged by the Texans running game. If the Giants bring that big pass rush, Schaub can just hand the ball off. That should slow down the pass rush. The Bears lack of a running game played right into the Giants hands.

I'm freakin' out man. Cushing is back, and will debut at Reliant!!! I can't wait for him to grab a pick, make some hits and do some housecleaning on his turf. Pollard was ruthless as usual yesterday sniffing out the ball on the ground and providing hard hits. 8 tackles, 3 assists. Now hopefully he can focus a bit more on helping shut down Nicks, Manningham, Boss, and pals in the air.

Houston needs to win these next two home games before the bye and going on the road for a week against Indy. I am really worried about the three potentially cold weather games later on against the Jests, Iggles, and Broncos. Now is the time to grab a few more wins before the big grind in the second half of the season when injuries and fatigue may take it's toll, and we face the always difficult division opponents.

We play the Giants on Sunday. I just wonder which Giants team will show up.

I notice that the Fox Sports rankings have been updated and that they have moved the Texans up. We are still dead last in pass defense, in spite of improving our average by over 65 yards per game. Those first two games against Peyton and Donovan really put us in a hole.

I think that the Raiders need to improve their rushing defense. Three Houston backs combined for 279 yards and a average of 6.9 yards per carry against them. Of course, Foster helped that average with his 76-yard touchdown run. Boy it's great having all of our offensive linemen healthy for a change.

Before the bye, we play the Giants and the Chiefs. Both have been looking impressive. But today we are in first place in the division.

I think the Chiefs are overrated. I believe that you should be able to handle the Giants and the Chiefs. Welcome to the playoffs Texans. :D

I started the season with the goal of the Texans having their second winning season, because I'd hate to see them regress. But I'll take whatever they can do.

You can say that again Em! Winning the next two games would go a really long way of getting close to cementing a spot in the playoffs.

That's the way that I see it, Reecey. I we can win those two, we will at the least maintain a one-game lead over the rest of the division going into the bye week. Hell, five wins would probably get us halfway there.

Hey Smitty glad you made your way through the door. You may want to take a glance at the forum called "Peaceful Corner" it has some good getting started tips in there.

We'll see if Cushing can rattle Eli early with the blitz. Then he can ease back, make some hits, and get a pick. I can't wait.

LOL, I hope that they follow your script, SS. The Giants have a hell of a pass rush themselves. Hopefully Foster will make them back off a little.

Hopefully the coaches can call the game they want to call and not have to react too much to what the Gmen are doing. Although coming from behind is a sign of a mature team, and is exciting perhaps, I would rather not have to change the gameplan and hope for the best. I would rather Houston attack and force the Gmen's coaches to try to adjust/react, versus Houston trying to find answers. Houston needs to run the heck out of the ball. Mix it up with Foster, Ward, and Slaton (in that order).

I'll take anything that works. I'm afraid that the Raiders weren't much of a test. My main hope is that the pass defense will improve. Actually, it has improved. We are still the worst in the NFL, but we aren't giving up and average of 403 yards per game anymore.

I am hoping Paymah might help out a bit once he settles in. How long that will take is anybody's guess though.
