The Trabant was the first green car.

I don't really think you should consider any of the cars you've shown for your next car purchase, Em.

I have always had SUVs Lady. They are perfect for tailgating, and that is the ONLY reason I get them!

Do you prefer an SUV because its easier to get in and out of? Otherwise I can't fathom why people in Miami need an SUV. LOL

The Trabant, mercifully, is no longer made. After reunification the East Germans were able to buy Volkswagens, Audi's, BMW's and Mercedes-Benzes. The Trabant does have a cult following, however, and a couple of movies have been made featuring them. They are celebrated simply because they were so bad.

Good morning, football fans. I figure that all of us in the Eastern and Central time zones are at work by now, but I don't know about the others.

I'm an hour to the west of you, but I'm an early riser. I like to take coffee out to my porch swing and listen to the birds wake up and greet the day. There's no traffic going by or any other disturbance and I can collect myself for the day.

We certainly seem to have the early shift. My guess is that once we get past hump day things will pick up. After all, most people work.

That never stopped people before (and it doesn't seem to stop them now at isports) and Facebook. Oh well, what is, is...

That certainly is a factor. I'm sure that people at work can't go to too many sites when they are supposed to be working and a lot of people are positively addicted to Facebook. Sometimes I wonder if they realize just how hooked on it they are. Of course if it doesn't interfere with real life relationships there's no harm in it.

Yes, Facebook is addicting, but no more so than blogging. It's just got a different framework, but I suppose it is all the same. Just places to go, visit with people you know (and don't know), talk about stuff that interests you and such. Switzerland--and other sports blogs are more specific and you can talk about stuff that REALLY matters--like FOOTBALL!!!

When I was in a "real life relationship" I spent FAR LESS time on Facebook and in Switzerland. And trust me, if the day comes that I get into another real life relationship, that is where my energy will go. Right now Facebook keeps me connected with my friends both near and far. Everyone has such busy lives anymore...even a small city like Seattle, everyone is spread out and it takes 20 minutes or more to get to a friends' house.

Yes, Lady... I just don't think people are as social as they once were. You didn't even need an invitation (except when I live in Boston a million years ago, where they were so formal. You never would have "dropped by" because you were in the neighborhood. Hell, when we were first up there we made the mistake of dropping in on someone, and they told us to wait outside (in the snow) till they finished doing something and then when the let us in they made us feel like aliens. In Florida, people are always welcome to drop by and stay awhile. It's just that now, no one has time--they are all busy doing nothing...

The Fantasy Draft was fun. I had some technical problems with it at times, but it was definitely fun. :D

People are SO non-committal nowadays. The party I went to Saturday night? Great party. The hostess did an amazing job...and one of her former best friends texted her about 20 minutes after the party started with "Sorry I can't make it tonight. Have fun!" The hostess texted her back with "whatever" and the gal texted her again and said "What do you mean?" Well? This gal has a history of dogging parties at the last second because she just couldn't decide until the last second...or something better showed up. She's even been called on it before and she just laughs it off or says "everybody does it." Wow.

It's no wonder people aren't in relationships. No one knows what they really want. They can't decide. Frustrates those of us who DO know what we want and CAN commit. (shakin my head)

You guys do that for me as well. The only bad part is, I always come in on the ass end of those great conversations. I'll load up FB, see something cool from one of you guys, and then notice all late, that it was something discussed 8 hours ago. I'm always like, why can't I drop in on one of these as it's being discussed?
