In my opinion, the important thing isn't so much what your religion is as the way that you practice it. If it makes you kind and considerate toward everybody and prompts you to acts of compassion and generosity, then it must be a pretty good faith to follow. If it provides you with the resources to meet the inevitable tragedies of life, you are in the right place.

Too many use religion as a badge that has not been earned. Religion or non-religion is merely a label, the true test is what we do and act while we are here for our very short time on the planet. My belief has me owning all my words and actions and feeling comfortable with my being once I've gone.

ive done a little studying on the Bahá'i faith as of late...very interesting way they look at all religions...

Baha'i and Buddhism are very beautiful religions. I believe most all religions teach us the basics of living right and loving right. I just can't figure out where and how all of the hatred figures into them. I am pretty sure that none of the religions teach hate...

People hate. They seek religious justification for their hate. Most religions have scripture that is vague enough in places so that it is possible to interpret them as we wish. They can even assure us that we are doing our personal enemies a favor by killing them.

If I may totally change the subject, I'm in the market for a new car. I have a SUV, so I don't need a car to haul things. I just want something that will carry four people in comfort. I'll be trading in an Audi A8 that I've really liked, but I'd like to see what is available before I just trade it in on a 2011 model. Any suggestions?

My daughter got a Hyundai Sonata last year--loaded. It's been wonderful and comes with a 10 year 10,000 mile warranty. She has ever amenity in that car. Then I believe there are two cars above it that are bigger and even more luxurious. I think when my Jeep Commander dies or gets too old to keep it going, I will go to Hyundai for my next car. Until you've seen and driven them, you won't believe it. They also have an SUV, which of course is what I will be driving. It'll be awhile yet (my car's only a year old), but I am dead serious about it.

I'd love a Hyundai Genesis. But its out of my price range. I am seriously considering a Hyundai Sonata - but I will probably wait until 2011 to get one...I love the 2011 body style; they look like a BMW or Mercedes (seriously). So I will wait until they are at the end of the model year before I purchase one.

I may get kicked out of the man club, because I'm uninterested in the technical details of cars. I bought my Audi A8 because it had the nicest interior of any of the cars that I sat in, which included Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and BMW. The Bentley was really nice, but it cost more than a car is worth to me.

What year A8 did you get? They are incredibly nice riding cars and compete with anything out there with their interior finish.

Mine is a 2007 and it's still a pleasure every time that I get into it. Even the plastic looks expensive. The seats are Connelly leather, like that used in the Rolls Royce. It takes me where I want to go quietly and in comfort, which is what I demand of a car. I also like that it is too understated to be popular with celebrities, although one was featured in one of the Transporter movies.

As I said, I'd love the Genesis. But its not affordable for me. Even the Sonata I would want - with leather interior - may be a stretch for me on single income.

There is something wrong with the fact that most of the people who can afford the cars that they want are too old to get excited about them. Other than basketball players and rap trash, most young people - the ones who can really enjoy nice cars - can't afford them. I'd look pretty silly in a hot sports car.

I hear you, I think the difference is about $3K on the Genesis coupe vs. the Sonata. I've driven both and they are similar, but the Genesis coupe was more sporty.

Do you prefer an SUV because its easier to get in and out of? Otherwise I can't fathom why people in Miami need an SUV. LOL

If I had a Trabant, I would try to trade up to a Yugo. When I was in Germany the country was still divided and there were lots of Trabant jokes. The body was made out of some sort of composite. The West Germans claimed that it was compressed garbage. The engine produced prodigious amounts of noise and smoke, but no power. Here's a photo of one with a power upgrade.
