Bum Phillips was recorded as being angered about the decision to fire Wade. He said that Wade went to the playoffs every season, was just 9-7, 13-3, and 11-5 (with one playoff win), did not warrant a coach being fired. A combined record of 33-16 is damned good for anybody.
Well BumBum, you're right about that. BUT, this job has higher expectations and tighter restrictions than any other coaching job in sports buddy. It comes with the territory, and anybody that comes in and accepts the Commander & Chief position for the Star (well...maybe more like Vice President
) Knows what is expected of them. Yeah Wade may have been a bumbling butt kisser and that turned him off to the rest of America, but he didn't set out to do what he was brought in to do and with the most quantifiable resources in the NFL. So BumBum, I love ya and agree with ya to a point, but all of that, plus being 1-7 this year is exactly why your son is on the outside looking in right now.
And Wade had the nerve to say after getting fired, "I thought my job was safe...." Seems like everytime Wade opens his mouth he does a disservice to himself.
