Even Curt Menefee (who was calling the game) said "Look at Coach Carroll working the referee. He's got the man laughing."

Ya Carroll is no Dungy.

I already miss him at USC even though they got the win last night (USC) they looked sloppy.
As I told you before LH, I think he will do a good job turning your team around and putting them on the right track.
Yes he does like to keep it light-hearted, but he is a disciplinarian and will say it like it is to the players when needed.

It's already obvious that the players - and pretty much everyone else in the NFL - has respect for Coach Carroll.

No doubt, Lady--Coach Carroll wins all the personality awards. He is a good and fair person. He has proven that he is a great college football coach. I hope for you and your team's sake that he can now show the world he is a top NFL coach. I think he has people from all the teams rooting for him.

I always remember a game when he was with the Jets. Our kicker missed the field goal and the cameras focused on Carroll just as he made the "choke" signal with his hand to his throat. He apologized to the Dolphin players, especially the kicker so many times. No way to hate that man!

LMAO!! I'm sorry that made me laugh...but yeah, I'm glad he apologized. His first tenure in the NFL wasn't the most glorious. Here's hoping he makes a GREAT comeback for us! He's just brought such a different energy to the team and the fans.

Thank you for the positive sentiments.

We'll see. I don't want to get my optimism too high. It's in the news here though that the Seahawks are going to release TJ Houshmandzadeh if they can't trade him...that he just "doesn't fit" with the team. Wow. Just dumping $7 million...he gets it whether he plays for us or not.

I really think they'd be smarter to get rid of Deion (I've got an extra vowel) Branch, but whatever. I'm sure Pete Carroll knows what he's doing.

A lot of teams are spending crazy this year, Lady. Just because they can, I guess. Next season, though, we're going to pay for it. I was watching one of the ESPN talk shows, and everyone is saying, "enjoy it this year, because next year there's going to be a lock-out." I am definitely NOT looking forward to the crap that's brewing for next year! Players now get 60-something % of the revenue, and the owners want to knock that down to 50 %. It is not going to be pretty.

The owners have a good argument. Their costs have been going up, but their percentage of the take has stayed the same. In the meantime, the players haven't had to share any of the increased costs, so their effective share has continue to rise. The big-market teams are doing fine, but the small-market teams are in serious trouble. Teams like the Redskins and the Cowboys can build billion-dollar stadiums, but many of the others can't fill the stadiums that they have. Those struggling teams still have to give their players the same cut as the teams that are rolling in cash. The reason that the new stadiums are being built is that the revenue from skyboxes doesn't have to be shared. That's why the new ones have skyboxes all over.

Yes, and no one seems to be worrying about "everyman," the ordinary work-a-day fans who once upon a time were the bread and butter of the teams/stadiums... As with Jerry Jones' monstrosity Texas Stadium--it is becoming all about the high rollers. If you can't afford a corporate box, then hey-how about some standing room only. How sad for the real fans.

Seahawks released TJ Housmandzadeh today...wow. Unreal. And they kept Deion Branch and Julius Jones. WTF.

Well at least you don't have to worry about having to say his name anymore, Lady. Wonder who is going to get him, though. He wasn't so bad, was he? Surely Carroll had a good reason for letting Housmandzadeh go. Maybe he had issues with his teammates?

Here is what I've heard/know:

One of TJ Houshmandzadeh's favorite quotes from last season was "Just get the ball to me."

Housh was argumentative with Hasselbeck and the coaches on the sidelines during games; he griped that the ball was thrown poorly to him or not enough. So it sounds like his "all about me" attitude was poisonous to the team as a whole. I mean...yes, he's a great receiver. But I think Carroll is really into building a team where everyone is on the same page and the attitude is about the "team" and not just "me."

P.S. His name is not difficult to pronounce. :)

Bad attitude...I guess he should have chosen Favre and the Vikings last year.
