Our "throwbacks" were not bad...they were a different blue and the players had silver helmets.

Some days...it just gets to be a bit much when it seems like EVERYONE wants to spar wits with me. I'm human after all.

We got a ton of much needed rain last night, very cool lightning storms too. It's going to be sunny and hot here this weekend - BBQ ON! Are you and your friend ever going to make it up to the "DIP"?

Again, another loss last night, but it doesn't bother me. I don't have expectations of the Hawks making it to the playoffs this year so I'm going to just make the best of this season and enjoy. Because overall, I like what I see with the team - playing with HEART.

Hope springs eternal...take it from a 49er fan. Playing with passion, heart and relentlessness is what make the game so great.

Unfortunately, last night one of our boys played with TOO MUCH heart and earned us a VERY COSTLY penalty (taunting the opposing team after a hit - new rule - big no-no.). If he hadn't taunted the Raider, it would have been a 4th down/long and punting situation. But the penalty gave the Raiders a first down. Same player had 2 costly mistakes for us last night on the same drive. He'll learn...

I haven't read the recap / box scores so I wasn't aware of that. Was it a rookie or just a hyper veteran? Someone showing passion, trying to make the team I'm sure.

just being an over zealous rookie - I'm sure the coach took him to the wood shed after the game...that won't happen again.

Coach Carroll definitely had a disgusted look on his face. But I gotta say...he's not your normal NFL coach. He's on the sidelines cheering the guys, patting them on the back...he was "working" the referee on the sidelines as well, making him laugh!!

Even Curt Menefee (who was calling the game) said "Look at Coach Carroll working the referee. He's got the man laughing."
