We all have our weak moments. Mine come when I take myself too seriously. Then I really make a damn fool of myself. The only person who doesn't risk that is the one who never says anything.

Many thanks, dred, for spelling me and Em for awhile. We've been making asses out of ourselves all summer long (but having a great time doing it).

When the car below was new, I knew all of the answers. Now I don't even know the questions.

The car in the picture is a restomod 1971 Plymouth Barracuda with an all-aluminum, 528 cubic inch, 729 horsepower hemi. It was featured at a Mecum auction in Florida in January. Sadly, it wasn't in my budget.

Boy, everybody is keeping it brief on this page. We'll have to think of some topic that everybody has a lot to say about, without getting into arguments.

Hi 16! Are you ready for another weekend of football? I love this time of year! Aside for keeping a nervous eye out for hurricanes, it couldn't be better.

We play the Saints this weekend and the Cowboys the next. It doesn't get any easier the whole season. Andre Johnson is great, but the key to our season is Matt Schaub staying healthy. We have nothing without him.

I quit trying to pick them because I did so badly. I sure enjoyed watching the games, though. Life is good when there is football.

Good morning, ck! Don't you just love it when they are playing football? Count me among those who really enjoy the preseason games. I like seeing the new faces and trying to figure which teams have improved themselves in the off season.

Agreed, Em. I love to choose my particular favorites and see how they rank with the football gods when it comes time to make the cuts. There are a couple of good ones on the Dolphins this season. Football season just soothes my soul!

I love that it give us something outside our own personal concerns to think about. That's what makes the off season seem so long.

Football season doesn't soothe my soul. But it sure as heck entertains the heck outta me. And it brings friends - old and new - together. Although I no longer blog there, I am grateful for the time I spent at FOX Sports because I got to meet and make some amazing friends because of it. You being one of them Claudia...thank you.

The feeling is mutual, LadyHawk.
I love everything about football! Of course, blogging is even better during the season. I love the rivalry, the excitement, the games, the highs, the lows (NOT!), the people, blah, blah, blah...

One thing that has surprised me so far in the preseason is how good the Forty-niners look. Sing may have that team back on track. They have had talent, but now they have somebody who will make them produce. I'm still doubtful about the Cowboys simply because they lack that. They seem like a mob of talented underachievers, not a football team.

Unfortunately, I haven't had much of a chance to watch what's going on--didn't even see the Phin game this past weekend. Don't intend to miss anymore games, though. I'll have my football brushed up this coming weekend.

True, Lady--hadn't thought of it that way. It is kind of interesting which rooms people favor and keep going vs. those that get left to fade away...
