I admire your determination. I walk six mornings per week. I do it in my air-conditioned home, with fans front and back. On the other hand, it's uphill both ways. People are surprised that a guy with a prosthesis can walk that much, but the only problem that it ever caused me was with balance. That's why I took up ballroom dancing.

Good to see your enthusiasm, 16. Kind of reminds me of Kicks. You wouldn't know Kicks--he was here long before you arrived. Kicksy was one of our early bloggers in Switzerland, and he always arrived with the great fanfare of WHOOOO HOOOOO! I can fly!!! His icon was a flying beagle (which can be seen just about smack in the middle of the Gallery page in my website (link can be found on the Board Index, should you be interested). He, Reecey, PAO and others used to carry on throughout the night (really!), and many of us couldn't wait to get up in the morning to read their posts from the night before. I really miss those days sometimes, but tempest fugits, and we must move on...

Well, Em, I've never been much for any kind of exercise, and with Arachnoiditis, it is even more of a challenge; however, this last bout of illness reminded me that I am not only older than I've ever been (big DUH here!), but I need to be more proactive in staving off the effects of this crippler. You are a fine example for me, and I appreciate that.

Although my home is large, there are lots of steps up and down, as well as a 17-step circular staircase--not good for walking. I am forced to walk outside in this absolutely suffocating heat, and that really sucks! I do live in a beautiful area--Biscayne Bay is on one side of us and the ocean on the other--with a couple of lovely streams between. During the winter months, walking in the early morning is spectacular, but in the summer months, regardless of the beauty--it's at best, a challenge! I see your smail--I'll go check it out now.

It's showing that my inbox is empty. It's why I was unsure if I had successfully sent you mail. Sometimes you have to send it twice.

It would show in your Outbox until I pick it up. Your Inbox shows a new message to you--Outbox shows your message to someone else.

Actually, the process is a bit on the strange side, but once you know it, it's easy. When you first post a private message (Smail for anyone new here), it shows you a preview of your post, then you must hit "submit" (again) to actually send it. A bit curious, but it works--especially if you have second thoughts about sending your message--it gives you a second chance, lol.

Right. When I sent you mail it showed in my outbox. Your message to me should be in my inbox, but it isn't.

This is crazy weird. I not only sent you mail, but saw it in my outbox...now it's gone. I thought you had picked it up. It was quite detailed too. I have to go for fifteen to thirty minutes. When I come back, I will recreate it as best I can, Em, and send it. Sorry about this.

No need to be sorry. In time all of this will become second nature to us. I have to clear out too. I'm helping a graduate student at Lamar University with the outline for his master's thesis.

Step right up and know this...in less than 30 days, we will all be watching pre-season NFL football. And then 16 glorious weeks of football to follow.

I don't wanna hear anyone bitching and whining within the first 2-3 weeks of the season that their team is done and the season is over. I don't want any crying within the first 2-3 weeks that that the season is flying by and will be over before we know it. That crap pisses me off and it better not happen here again this year (cuz it happened LAST season and the season before that).

Got it?
