I can cook a few things, but I get no enjoyment cooking for just me. Sarah and I would give dinner parties and share the cooking and it was great fun. I would make the roux and we'd drink a little wine while we cooked. I hardly go in the kitchen anymore, eating most of my meals out.

Reecey, we are bound to get a break sooner or later. We had great prospects and then Hurricane Ike put us on the road for six straight weeks, with our players more worried about their families and homes than the games. We got a streak going and then our quarterback was injured. We thought that we would make the playoffs and beat the Patriots to do our part, only to have a team that will remain unnamed lay down to keep us out of the playoffs. Now we have an impossible schedule. One of these years it will be our turn.

Yep. They said that they thought they would have a better chance of beating the other team since their Week 17 opponent was also the team they were seeded to play against in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. WELL, they picked their poison, and got stomped for it too. Hopefully, with a slight improvement to our interior offensive line, a slight enhancement of the pass rush, and with a steady RB trio, we can make some noise despite the challenge that is the season to come. 9 or 10 wins with this schedule would be damned impressive. I hope that we Slaughter the Chargers. I've made no secret of my disdain for them, and I also hope that we do the same to the Eagles.
Playoffs? Playoffs? Don't talk to me about Playoffs! I'm just trying to win a game! Playoffs?

I'm wondering how much the Eagles will have. I expect the Redskins to be the most improved team in the NFC East. They now have a real head coach and a warrior quarterback who will demand that everybody give their best. If Dan Snyder doesn't meddle, the Redskins could shock some people.

AFC North = Ravens
AFC South = Colts
AFC West = Chargers

NFC East = Cowboys
NFC North = Packers
NFC South = Saints
NFC West = 49ers (sorry LH)

AFC Wildcards = Patriots / Bengals
NFC Wildcards = Vikings / Falcons

AFC Wildcard Weekend
Patriots vs. Chargers = Patriots
Bengals vs. Ravens = Ravens

NFC Wildcard Weekend
Vikings vs. Cowboys = Cowboys
Falcons vs. 49ers = 49ers

NFC Divisional Weekend
49ers vs. Packers = 49ers (fingers, toes and eyes crossed in eternally hope)
Cowboys vs. Saints = Cowboys

AFC Divional Weekend
Patriots vs. Colts = Colts
Jets vs. Ravens = Jets

NFC CG
Cowboys vs. 49ers = Cowboys

AFC CG
Jets vs. Colts = Colts

Superbowl
Colts vs. Cowboys = COLTS

Colts win the SB AT Cowboys :!:

Still too early (injuries and the "little things" as Dungy always said that detemine a game here, a game there...)
But, for what it's worth, agree w/ 16F w/ a few exceptons:
AFC West - not sure about the Chargers but is any other team in the div better - could have a dark horse in that div
AFC Wild Card - I'll be surprised if the TX's aren't there and Miami (Marshall?) / NE (Welker???? and their D)
NFC Wild Card - Falcons, Redskins?, maybe the Vikings - tough to repeat last season's success (specifically Favre)

Off to work - TGIF all~

CK, those were 16F's predictions...not Baglady's. Personally, I think its waaaay too early to be making predictions for this season. Even out of the depths of boredom its too early.

One morning closer to football season! I wish all of the jobholders a Friday of happy anticipations. I love being retired - and glad that I took early retirement - but there is one down side. There is no climax to the week. I do different things on different days, but there's no one day to look forward to (I have Churchill's contempt for the rule about not ending a sentence with a preposition).

Not dissing your efforts 16F. I'm sure they were well thought out (allthough Cowboys in the SuperBowl? Hmmm)... at least they spurred a bit of football conversation which is hard to come by this time of year.

Im shocked we still haven't had any Brett Favre drama...how refreshing!

Yes I was just trying to be a catalyst for football conversation. I save the USA Today edition where many sportswriters make the predictions as I did, I look at it preseason and then look at it at the end of the season and it's never correct. I had a little vomit in my mouth when I typed Cowboys in the SB, but I don't have them winning which would be a great thing since the game is at Jerry's World this year.

Speaking of vomiting, the word Favre makes me ill but don't you worry #4 will be back in the news very soon.

GO AWAY, JUST PLEASE GO AWAY -
Favre
Donald Trump
all celebrity kids
Lindey Lohan
Paris Hilton
.........I have many more and the list goes on and on... feel free to add to it. (I know it's not football but I'm kinda bored today)

I hate the very word celebrity. For exactly what are they celebrated? Mother Theresa was famous, but was she a celebrity? I think not. In my opinion most of the celebrities are shallow people with a pathetic need for attention.

Dan Gilbert is an absolute F-ing idiot - you think he woke up this morning asking himself "what did I do that for?"

Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight.

As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.

This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.

Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.

The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.

There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.

You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.

You have given so much and deserve so much more.

In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight:

"I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER 'KING' WINS ONE"

You can take it to the bank.

If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.

Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.

Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.

This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.

But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.

The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.

Just watch.

Sleep well, Cleveland.

Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....

I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:

DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....

Dan Gilbert

For the record I do believe "The Decision" show was absurd beyond all measure. For the record I believe those who say that athletes go for dough are wrong here. Cleveland could've offered him 30 million more, but he wants to win, that won't happen in Cleveland ever with the team and the owner they have. Like I said earlier I think Miami has set themselve up as the next dynasty. Miami vs. LA in the 2010 finals. Miami punches LA.

It has a druken rant tone to it. I think he'll regret all of it. Em he left to go to the Miami Heat along with Chris Bosh (an incredible Power Forward), those two along with D. Wade are the nucleus of a dynasty to come.

Sorry, I ignore everything about round ball. Perhaps it is because I was so very bad at it when I was a kid. I was a pretty good football player and I ran track (I had two feet in those days), but I just didn't have the hand-eye coordination to play basketball or baseball.

I'm not an NBA fan by any means, but yesterday's news about LeBron James going to Miami was EVERYWHERE...even on Facebook, tons of my friends were commenting on it. I heard about it on the radio this morning while driving to the train station. Hard to avoid.
