Looks like Tebow to the Jets hit a snag. He has some weird contract stipulation going on.

I don't mind bribing people to come home to Switzerland. I'm just happy to have them back and seeing life here again. I've missed my old friends, and I hate having to scavenge all over facebook and faux, when it's so easy for everyone to meet right here. You all just have to send me your addresses or ebook info, so I can send the books out. You can do it through email or smail, whichever you prefer, and I'll send the books out to you. Paper books will have to wait a bit longer because they won't be out until some time in April. Ebooks are out now.

My address is the same but I'll send it to you.

Tebow's contract has a clause that makes the team he's traded to refund 5 million to the Broncos. McDaniels must have dreamed that one up.

I prefer paper books as well, Utah. This time it's a paperback. They should be out some time around the middle or end of April and as soon as I can get my hot little hands on them, I will send you your copy. It's good to have you back, even if it took a little bribe. I already feel a little breath of life back in here, and it's only been a day! I only hope it gets better and better.
It will be interesting to see what happens to Mr. Tebow with his little clause.. .

Tebow is now a Jet. They split the difference according to Jerry.

As far as the book goes I'll buy one CK. Didn't come here for a freebie rather was amused at the post.

Good morning, football fans! Now that the quarterback road show is over and Tebow has taken his sideline revival meetings to the Jets, maybe we can get down to some serious team building. Who do you like in the draft?

First, fair is fair, Utah--you get your book free, as soon as it is released. It's not as though old Swissies are breaking their collective necks to get back here anyway apparently. Both Steve the Cat and Dred posted before I made my offer and have posted every now and again over the years anyway. They will get books on loyalty points, as will Emeritus, of course, as he never left. Perhaps it it'll take awhile for the grand prize of the free novel to sink in before folks start showing up. I'm a patient woman, though. Brian Piper was sounding like he'd be coming around. Maybe he's *hoovering, waiting for the right opportunity... :D

Ah, Em--the draft. We certainly have enough areas to address! What with cutting Yeremiah Bell, Brandon Marshall and still needing a QB, well--where oh where to look first? I don't think any of the QBs available are really worth using a first-round choice on, but what's-his-name Wheedon? He ought to be available into the second round about when we get there, and he'd be a good catch/match for us. I hate to say that though, because it seems anyone I suggest immediately becomes someone Ireland and Ross decide they don't want. I, like most of the fans in Miami, am unhappy with just about everything Ross and Ireland have done since Ross bought the team, and it continues to deteriorate every year with no end in sight...

Denver doesn't pick until 25 in the first round. We need DT's, ILB, RB, CB's, and maybe a ss. With Champ Bailey getting up there we need a close down corner bad but not sure there is one in this draft. Interior Defensive lineman seem to be real deep though. And we need a young QB for when Manning gets dinged up again. Manning is a 2-3 year fix at best.

I didn't remember you being a Denver fan, Utah--how quickly we forget! So you must be in heaven, getting Manning and getting rid of Tebow in one big move! I'd sure be one happy woman. I'm so happy the Jests have Tebow. I'd gladly play him twice a year for the rest of my life (and at my age, you never know, lol). Unless he gets some serious help at the position, I just don't see him surviving in the NFL. UF QBs just don't seem to be able to make it once they get out of the University level, and Tebow just spends way too much convening with the Lord during games. You need to keep your prayer time to before and after the games, and use game time for focusing on football. I'm just sayin'...

How's Paulie doing, Utah? I think about him a lot, but I never even see him around on facebook. Give him my regards. He's quite a character, but he always managed to make me smile (when he wasn't being downright mean).

I didn't even know they had groups on facebook, lol! I just kind of use facebook to keep in touch with old friends and because my publisher wants me to post news on my newest novels as they come out, as another link to my website, which you may have noticed I had completely renovated (again). My new publisher is much more aggressive about public relations than my old one was, so hopefully things will go much better.

LOL. Facebook has groups and secret groups. Some of the latter get pretty raw, since you can elect to not have you comments show up outside the group page. I hate to think of myself as an old fogy (even though I am), but I'm surprised at how juvenile grownups can act. It doesn't bother me, because it is all in fun.

[b]Well, Em--I remember how raw things used to get at Faux on the open boards, and for awhile here when some of those crazies were running around here--like orange-u-glad. Remember him? Practically undressing women (who were, as I recall, NOT fighting it at all). It ended badly and turned out to be one of the first big blows for Switzerland anyway. It was my first reckoning that people like being made fools out of (pretty much)--but not me! I suppose it's a good thing that I don't get invited to those groups.
They sure are yammering about Tebow on all the talk shows--radio and television. Maybe they'll follow my advice and use him for something other than a QB. Now they're talking about the wildcat again. Jeesh. My advice to him remains "keep the praying for off the field!!!" "football for ON the field." He will be so much more productive...

It is just my opinion, but I think that Tebow hit his peak in college. He is athletic and he has a wonderful never-say-die attitude. He deserved the Heisman Trophy. However, I think that he lacks the talent to make it at the next level. If I were Tim Tebow, I would be preparing for a career after football. As for his Tebowing, nobody would ever have noticed it if the media hadn't insisted on focusing on it. In my opinion, the TV cameras should be on the action on the field, not what some guy is doing on the sideline. As long as he's off the field, the guy could get out a prayer rug, as far as I'm concerned.

We agree on Mr Tebow, Em. I am so over-Tebowed I can't begin to tell you, but I am ever-so-grateful his prayer show is not in Miami! I sure was worried it was going to be here too. Meanwhile, I'll just savor the Jests little game they've got going on right now, and then as it gets crazier and crazier throughout the season, sit back and laugh throughout the fireworks!

Seems to have quieted down some today. Hmmm, maybe I need to offer two books to returning Swissies, lol? Nope, it's not going to happen! If it's only to Utah, then only to Utah it goes! By the way, Utah, I need you to send me your address. The book is out now in print as well, so I should be getting the copies I ordered within the next week or so. As soon as I get them, I want to send yours out...

What's going on, ck. I usually go out to dine and dance on Saturday evenings, so don't look for me then. Now if I could just find something to do with my Sunday afternoons until football season, I'll be in good shape.

Re: SWITZERLAND FORUM

Postby cklaurence » Sun Mar 25, 2012 12:33 pm

Oh my. I just wrote a long post and the Internet stole it! I am so pissed. I suppose the most important part of it was that I need Em and Utah's addresses to send their books. Em, if you have an ebook, all you need to do is tell me what kind and give me your email address and I can send it there--that should solve all our problems, right?
I also talked about how much money I'm saving because of no one taking me up on my first ten old Swiss family returnees getting free signed books from me :*(. I really didn't mind spending the money at all, and when Utah showed up so quickly I was so happy! I figured with someone as popular as Utah coming home so quickly, others couldn't be far behind. Well, there's no rush, I guess. I didn't put a time limit on my offer, and it hasn't even been a whole week since I put it up, so, I'll be patient and enjoy having Utah home again. It's nice having a third voice here, right Em?
Oh yeah--the other thing I talked about in my lost post was, we need a winter/spring league. Sundays are killers in the offseason, and after the draft is over, they get downright painful!!!

No, Em, I have not; however, if he agrees to the position, my fondest wish would be that he would take his old friend Ireland with him!!!!!! They did so much for the Fins, and Ireland, after all, is the gift Parcells gave that just keeps on giving... It would be tough on us, but just as a gift to my old friends the Saints, I would recommend that Ross let Ireland go. Wait! Better still! I'll recommend that both Ross and Ireland go, and we find a new owner and GM. Can I be a better person than that?????

I heard from Waverly recently. She's on the road, heading back East. She sent her regards to you, Em (and Utah), but I believe she has a special fondness for you, Em, as she told me you have been very kind to her over the years, and as we all know, her life has not been a bed of roses. She said when she finally finds a place for herself and settles back down she'd visit here to say hello to you personally...
