this has got to be the craziest spring...for me...in ohio...it warms up...it cools down...ive had a snotty nose for a month...with all the temp changes...

I've often wondered what dogs really think of us. I always enjoyed Snoopy's thoughts about Charlie Brown, "the little round-headed kid." I think that they sometimes wonder just how smart we are.

It is well into spring here, with temperatures in the high seventies every day. Fortunately, there is usually a breeze at this time of the year. I live only minutes from the Gulf of Mexico, so we have a maritime climate.

one of things i miss about not living near an ocean is temperature stability...but...throw in hurricanes...humidity...bugs...i think i can put up with the temps...

im not sure what koko thinks of me...but...he is always glad to see me...usually listens to what i have to say...without judging me...(sometimes he snorts...if he thinks im being wrong headed)

I seem to remember work. I took early retirement at 59 1/2 in September of 2007. Now I work when I want to.

This is a great place to live, most of the year. I've been looking for someplace else to spend the late summers. There's really nothing to keep me from living somewhere else part of the year.

i was semi retired (or...so i thought) all said and done...i enjoy working...eating and having a solid roof is good...too...

I took early retirement after I lost all of my family within the space of a few years. I had a job that I loved, but after that my heart just wasn't in it any more. The fact that I didn't need that income had something to do with it, too. What I miss the most are the associations that we had, but I felt like the odd man out after my wife died.

We're glad that you're happy in paradise, Try. It's a mixed bag for most of us. Presently, being here in coastal Southeast Texas is like living in a garden. In late summer it is almost unbearable, even without the hurricanes. Actually the hurricanes don't much bother me. I just get in a plane and vacation elsewhere until everything is back to normal. My old home (built in 1907-08), seems invulnerable to the storms. I've never even lost a roof slate. Come to think of it, I did lose some old awnings during Ike, but I had planned to replace them anyway and because of the hurricane the insurance company paid for me to do it.

weve had water rationing every summer since 93...(thats when i got there) with
