I agree The only thing that changes with Okung and Clady is the way John dogged him on his contract. Elway took advantage and he plays for cheaper than Clady would have . I think Clady is the better blocker but we did need the Capspace. Both players are injured often. Clay has season ending injuries if not he plays through his. I think Ty Sambrailo will get a year behind okung and take his place the following season when Okung's big money could kick in. RT is a problem to me Schofield is an injury from starting again and he did make Oakland's Mack look a little like Von. I hope they find help at ILB in the final cuts made for teams to get to 53 we are weak behind Nelson

Another take on rookie camp.

There you have answered my biggest concern with kick return. I like this kid Kalif Raymond just not sure he will help us just as a return man. He hits the hole on punts fast but Norwood is a better receiver. He smaller than Norwood but he is explosive. At 5'9" 163 pounds he may be a little too light. Bralon Addison is the same height but at 197 I guess he will be the man I look to see take the return job. He could play the gunner on punts if needed. at least he can throw some weight around.

Yeah 163 is light for the NFL. We will call Raymond, "Candlestick", from now on, because he's skinny and gonna get lit up

No time to wait, get the kid up to speed ASAP. Even if he doesn't start this year he will be well equipped for next season.

I don't think he will be ready, He has to get use to the footwork and playing under center. He doesn't have to take over though Mark will do just fine. I want to see him move up from third to second string.

Kap knows that because of his salary alone, he will have a chance to keep the starting job. However, both Kap and the 49ers lost out on this deal and from the looks of it Denver won by Elway not budging. Those years in the used car business taught him how and when to negotiate and when to play hard ball.

as I said beforeI can't blame Kap for wanting the money. This is the last year in his deal that he gets a big payout. He has life after football he has to think about. He isn't going to get another big contract so keep what you got.

Oh I completely understand that side of the argument. I just think he has a better chance of future money in Denver than he does in San Fran. If the 49ers sit him this year, he gets traded or cut next year for nothing. his value goes lower than it already is. If he goes to Denver, he probably plays, does well behind an improved o-line with a running game and a world class defense. he finishes out his contract and either gets paid by us or goes to the highest bidder in FA.
