Big loss to the Dolphins. Mad Dog Jim Mandich passed away (after a long battle with bile duct cancer). Throughout his illness he continued to broadcast the Dolphin games here in south Florida, with the same love, bias and enthusiasm he has for many years past. There can be no replacement, and he will be missed by so many, not the least, by me! He was a reserve tight end on the '72 perfect team, but never talked about it--just about his beloved Dolphins and his dreams to see them once again rise to their former greatness. R.I.P. Mad Dog...

I'm sorry to hear about the loss, ck. I know how an announcer can become so associated with a team that things just don't seem the same without him. My sympathies for his family.
