My Texans managed to win half of a football game. LOL. Sometime I wish that football was like gambling and you could quit while you are ahead.

I enjoyed the Jets and Saints games, but I'm a little nervous. I hope that this isn't one of those years where we win all of the preseason games and then struggle during the regular season.

[size=150][/siMs Bags and I totally disagree on preseason. I agreed with the Shula years, where we won very few preseason because he totally used those games to figure out exactly what he had going for himself. He thought long and hard whether he was keeping or dumping every single player, be it veteran, free agent, walk on or draftee. He couldn't have cared less where those games went as opposed to where the season games were going to go and oh yes, how the physical condition of the players he kept would be when they got there.

That moron Sparano played both Henne and Bush (who have no real back-ups) for 3 solid quarters as though they were in a play-off situation. It made me sick!!! ((((((Looking for VOMITTING icon --PEACE, WHERE ARE YOU??)))))

I notice that the Dolphins and Texans are playing each other again this year. That will make six games in the nine years the Texans have been around.

You and Reecey ought to catch a flight out here, stay at the Laurence Manor and catch the game up close and personal...

Every time that I go see the Texans play, they lose. Rationally, I know that I'm not causing them to lose by going to the game, but a long trip home from a loss is a bummer. I'll have to find something else to blame. Surely it can't be because the Texans were outplayed?

CK, actually I think we really agree about preseason games.... they're an opportunity to see what talent a team has and which players show they're worthy of a roster spot. My only problem is paying reg season tic prices for the preseason games :x
I only wish you know which Colts starter was healthy enough to even get a few reps in preseason :( :( :(

Wonder if the NYG would trade Carr for Painter - lol! Carr and the NYG sure looked impressive last night. With all the gloom and doom talk after the Giants offseason losses (Smith, Boss, O'Hara etc) and the Eagles big acquisitions, think the NFC East could be a competitive div this season - hope so....

I always blame myself for Dolphin losses. If I'm there,it's because I was there. If I'm not, it's because I was not. My brother is the same way. In fact, he lives 2 hours away, and when he comes down to go to a game with me, it's a long way home--usually after a loss (but it's usually after a loss when it comes to home Dolphin games anyway). Last time he was here, we had a huge tailgate party and split up the seating and equipment between his car and mind. By half-time it was clear (JETS, ugh) that we were going to get blown away). He excused himself to go get a drink, but didn't come back to the seats. We figured he'd be back at the cars drinking and smoking. Nope. He'd gone home--completely forgetting we needed his car to get everyone/thing home. He was so upset about the game, he just wasn't thinking. When Marino played (the early years)--Jay (my brother) would sit there with a notebook and keep his stats throughout the games. He was almost as nuts as I am...

Bags--I'm just worried to death that Sparano is going to absolutely destroy our first string before the season begins! I'm telling you, they have no back-ups at all to speak of, and you know how I felt about Henne and Bush, but I have to say, Henne was giving it his all the other night. He was right on top of everything. He was accurate, in charge and at the top of his game, but Jeesh--who lets the first string QB play 3 quarters, scrambling even, taking ridiculous chances PRESEASON????? Same with Bush! All about selling tickets--no back-ups at all, showing him off as a warrior, risking injury--I just can't tell you how insane it all is... I would like to think there's a 'greater' plan going on in their bobble heads, but unfortunately, I've seen these two work for three years now, and I've learned, t'aint nuttin' in them bobble heads but air...

ck, Gary Kubiak only let our starting offense play the first four possessions. They produced 24 points and 283 yards and then he pulled them.

dred, in their first year the Texans showed how not to build a new franchise. They spent their number one draft pick on Carr, with no offensive line to protect him. As a result, he holds the NFL record for being sacked. They set his career back for years. A more judicious move would have been to have traded down for two lower draft picks. I believe that all good offenses are built around a great offensive line, starting with the center. Fortunately, the people who made those decisions are long gone. We are very happy with our starting quarterback, who throws for over 4000 yards every year and we got him cheap. The difference is that he has a good offensive line.

The Texans play in San Francisco Saturday at 7 pm our time. I'm trying to see if it will be televised. The Niners are going to beat us badly, according to our old friend Coolslayer.

The game isn't over yet, but so far the Niners haven't scared the Texans off the field.

LOL, the game started with Schaub throwing an interception that was returned a few yards for a touchdown. Those were the only points that the Niners scored, so I guess that our defense is improved.

The 49er - TX game wasn't televised here but the TX D looks to be greatly improved under Wade and the TX O appears as potent as last season.... The NE @ Lions game was on here - have to say even though it was just a preseason game, the Lions sure seemed much better prepared on both sides than NE - will leave it at that :) :) :)

I'm delighted for the Lions fans. I remember the few who stuck in out on Fox Sport in spite of a 0-16 season on top of many more losing season. They are fans!

I know that preseason doesn't count, but it's all that we have to go on for now. The Texans defense - the joke of the NFL - is currently second in total defense. It's too early to start celebrating, but it looks like we might have found the defensive coordinator that we have been needing.

Now that's a way to look at it--our cheerleaders could probably compete on any field! It's just my team that's going to have some serious problems, I'm afraid. Oh well.

I'm so upset! Josh (my eldest) just moved into his apartment, so not thinking for a moment that the game wouldn't be televised--they ALways televise preseason games--I gave him my tix for tonite's game so he could take his girlfriend, roommate and roommate's g.f. Now I see it will not be televised. Just shoot me! Dolphins v. Dallas, and I really wanted to see this one...

I share your surprise, ck. I would certainly have expected the game to be televised. Hell, they are even televising the Texans-Vikings game, although I don't expect them to play any starters. If the game is just blacked out locally you might be able to find a live feed. I don't know that I've ever heard of a blacked-out preseason game, though.

Well, Em--I'm waiting for the answer...
Of course, we all know that all bets are off after the preseason. Surely the Dolphins won't be whipping Dallas' butts midseason, lol--and the Jets and Pats aren't shaking with fear about their two meetings with Buffalo and the Dolphins. It was nice to see us 3 and 1, even though in my heart of hearts I know it isn't a true reflection of my team...

By the way, Em--I could not find a reason for the black-out last night. I was so angry, I can't begin to tell you. It rained throughout the game my son tells me, and Henne didn't even play one down. Neither did Romo. So, of course, the game isn't indicative of anything. Josh also told me there weren't more than 20,000 fans in the stadium either--how sad.
