I hear you on the lottery thing Utah, but it's so hard to win without playing. I'm going to have to break down some time and actually play it every now and again. Just for fun though, because my luck has never been really great in that area, lol.
Glad family is good. I seem to remember you went through some tough times. Seems as though we all have rough periods, but if you ride them out and just deal with them, it's all good. It's just when you fight it and keep fighting it that the marriages blow up. So good is good!

Hmmmm. Where oh where can Emeritus be? We gain an old family member and one disappears? WTF?????

I think the older we get, Utah, the better we recognize the importance of family (home life). We tend to take it for granted when we're younger, but as the empty nest sets in--some of us later than others--you recognize who really matters and who is really going to be there when the chips are down. Lord knows, it's not going to be my football team  . Seriously, though, when it gets to be just the two of you at home, you finally appreciate what you've got and how much your spouse means to you. (Either that, or in some cases my friends have found that there's absolutely nothing there and it was merely having the kids between them that kept them from knowing that earlier.)

I guess Em and Reecey are off on some Texan page drinking and carousing with other Texan fans while they share the good times of being undefeated and top-ranked. I don't guess I'll be doing that any time soon. So tell me, Utah--how's it feel to have Peyton Manning as your QB? Pretty hot stuff, huh!

And who wouldn't like Peyton as their QB? He's awesome!

I think the Fins might have the beginnings of a QB finally, but our awful owner/coach made sure he didn't have any solid receivers. Well, he's got Hartline who's doing the best he can and Fasano, but really, he needs a lot more help to get things done steadily...

Congratulations on the win! After two overtime losses, the Dolphins beat a good team. Maybe this is the start of a turnaround. I'm impressed with the Dolphins defense!

The Phins are pretty decent this year.

Good luck tonight Emeritus. You guys should wipe the toilet bowl with the Jets.

Hey, Guy! It wasn't the Texans best game, but I will take an ugly win over a heroic loss any day. The Jets brought everything that they had, including going for it twice on fourth down in their own red zone. They just don't have a lot of talent.

How about that? Even after the lackluster win last night, the Texans are first in the Power Rankings for the third straight week. Here's hoping that we can keep it going against the Packers this Sunday.

There you are, Em! Were you off meditating about that game? I was concerned myself about that one. It's so difficult for a team to get up for a game against a group like the Jests. I'm so sorry we played them when we did, as I felt that the Dolphins could have beat them with just a little more knowledge of where they stood. Everyone knows how I feel about Tebow--he's like an extra penis or an extra thumb. There, but not much you can do with him. I thought he'd make a good running back, or maybe a receiver, but he may just be too dumb for those positions as well.Sanchez seems to get worse with every game. I can only hope their slide continues throughout the season and the next time we play them we make it right.
Em--on Danny's show Sunday, (not Danny) one of them has already brought up the prospect of the Texans having a perfect season. So there you go, it's already started! How's it feel?

Well guys, today I'm 65. It finally got here. I don't feel any older and I don't think I look any older (than yesterday, lol), but all those charts say that my time on this Earth has really started its descent. So much so that I've had to begin taking an anti-anxiety medication. Hopefully, I'll get past this sudden panic. Holidays and birthdays have always depressed me a bit anyway, so it shouldn't be unusual to me that I would get a bit on the sad side--and perhaps a bit more because it is such a milestone. I just want to get moving quickly so it doesn't add to the depression of Thanksgiving, Chanukah/Christmas/New Year--which are all without my mom and dad now as well...

Oh my. Did not mean for this to turn into a depressing post for everyone. It's all good. Thanks to the wonders of pharmaceuticals, however, I figure in about 20 minutes I should be feeling just fine--so by the time you read this, so should you! Love to my Swiss Family, me

Hallelujah! With only three of us posting, it feels like old times. I actually got held up on posting my last one for one of your posts! That hasn't happened in at least a year. I think my depression's gone and my pill hasn't even kicked in, lol. So good to have you back, Utah. Don't you think it's nice to have someone breaking up the monotony of the two of us old folks, Em? :D

"What's that? Ah -- Playoffs? Don't talk about -- playoffs?! You kidding me?! Playoffs?! I just hope we can win a game! Another game!"

To paraphrase Jim Mora: Perfect season! I just hope that we can make the playoffs with most of our main people healthy. We've already lost an irreplaceable linebacker. I don't think that under the present format anybody is going to have a perfect season. LOL, the Texans have already won more games than they used to win in a season!

LOL! I'm trying to restrain the bandwagon fans who have appeared on the Texans page at Fox Sports. They weren't around when the Texans were struggling, but now they are showing up to boast. You'd think that they had won the games themselves. Big talk is fine for little boys, but adults are supposed to know better. It looks like I'm in the minority on that, though.

Bandwagoners are the worst. They're like weevils. They come from nowhere and guck up everything. You just have to ignore them. We've had 3 competitive games in a row. 2 OT losses and an actual win last week. I'll bet JRS will be a bit fuller this week for the first time in years. Nothing overwhelming of course, but just enough to see people starting to crawl their ways back. It will be interesting. If we lose? It'll clear out fast and that wil be that.

It seems to me that the Dolphins are showing a lot of promise. They seem to be concentrating on the essentials of running the ball and playing defense, which is ideal with a rookie quarterback.

We'll see tomorrow, Em... My brother's here and we've been talking about it all afternoon. More and more we're appreciating our rookie QB, and crossing our fingers that our kicker will hold himself together and get through the day without any errors... '

Thanks so much Em! Our division is all tied up at 3-3--what a hoot! I don't know where it's going from here though. We still have to face Buffalo twice, as well as NE twice, with one more tangle with the Jests. That in and of itself is a helluva test! Every game is a killer--each an every minute through to the last second (twice in OT) has you on the edge of your seat. Tough way to go...

Ouch! I knew that we were going to lose some games, but I didn't expect the Texans to get blown out at home. Of course I didn't expect the 49er to get stomped either.

Wow, Em--Sorry about that. Looks like you were the team that Mr. Rogers decided to get unbolted at. I guess he was taking that stuff personally, or it would appear so by his after game media conference.''

We here in Miami (who have stayed loyal) have gotten used to losing at home over the past several years. I believe our away record has been much better than our home record. You can tell by our stands. It's great for traffic in and out of the stadium. Used to be brutal, now it's a breeze. You can set out just before game time and get there in minutes. Once there I just valet it these days. No crowds in the stands either. Maybe 2/3 full. In a game like yesterday's against the Rams with very very few Rams' fans there, probably less than that. Call me crazy, but I miss the crowds...

That's the awful part about accruing a nice winning streak (I remember this from the days we used to) is when it gets broken. Home or away, it's just so painful. My heart's with you...

I guess that somebody thought that our secondary needed some work this year. We played against Brees in the preseason and we have Manning, Rogers and Brady in the regular season.

I miss the days of seeing actual Dolphin fans filling the seats and giving the team a "HOME FIELD" advantage! Maybe someday it will return.... we can always dream.....
3-3 with two overtime loses (that were win-able) and we could have been looking at 5-1 also.
Yes we do still have our division to go against, but we can hold our own with the Bills & the Jests and we know that the Patriots can be beat this season too. Time to keep the glass at ½ full!! just sayin'........
