Hi CK!!!

Happy Monday. Getting ready to watch the Bears/Jets game. Having no vested interest in either team makes the game more enjoyable to watch. Sorry to see that both our teams lost yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised that the Broncos kept the game so close at Seattle. Forced overtime even. I expected us to lose handily since playing at Seattle is such a hard place to win the last few years. Only one team has managed to accomplish that so far. We never had a chance to possess the ball in OT. Well.... its just a game.

Weather has cooled off a bit here. Its been nice. Dreading the winter to come. They say it might be as bad or worse than last year. That polar vortex mess was horrible. Not that you probably noticed in Florida.

Hope you had a great weekend.

Hey dear Kicksie!

Sorry I've been so long in replyng, but I waited and waited--then I went to Tampa for a week and miracle of miracles, my daughter and Evan came home to visit for a week, which turned into two weeks and I've been totally immersed in grandmotherhood! Loving every minute of it.

I enjoyed the bye week for the Dolphins very much, lol. It puts no pressure on the weekend and I can sit back and root for the teams that are playing against our division, without fretting about what is happening at our game. This week is Green Bay HERE and I am so dreading it!!!

Baby leaves this weekend, and I'm going to have to catch up with my life! I put everything aside when he is here because I don't want to miss a second of his smiles and coos.

So best of luck to the Broncs and hopefully we'll have all good things to talk about come Monday/Tuesday. Love and hugs, c. <3 :D

Not quite sure why, but I am totally bummed about yesterday's game vs. the Packers. For just a moment I thought that sack of crap coach of ours would muster up enough fire to fire up his team to hold back GB for that last minute and pull out the win - but NO, not to be for even one little itsy bitsy game. So kicksie, say something funny please to cheer me up, yes?

Hmm....be funny..... Ok....

What do you call a baby monkey?

A chimp off the old block.

Sorry about the Fins CK. I thought they had that game in the bag. I was stunned when GB came back in the waning seconds there to win. I was hoping that either the Fins or the Bills might knock the Patsies off their perch this year. The season is still not over. Keep the faith. ;)

Hey Kicksie! Sorry for the long absence but have been going full speed with finishing up an erotica novel (which will come out under a pen name). Almost done, then I can get back into the sequel to MYSTERY at long last.

As for my Fins, they are like a new surprise every week! They lose to the lesser teams and put up a big fight and even beat the better teams. No way to figure out WTF is going on with them. One thing's for sure, they're doing better when the head coach isn't around. Marino has been working with Tannehill, so that has to be a plus. He has actually looked better of late and he has spoken out - as has Marino - about the worthlessness of Bonehead. Ah, I dream of the days when the Fins finally get their strength back and the Patriots fall. I can't believe in all these years that the Fins are the only team that has the Pats' number, i.e., rush the crap out of Brady and watch him choke!

Tomorrows games should be interesting. Fins are playing here, which doesn't mean a thing. We haven't had home field advantage since the we left the (R.I.P.) Orange Bowl. So sad.

Your team's not doing so bad--you can brag, I can take it, lol. Take care, and thanks for being here...

Hi CK!!!

I called the Fin win over the Chargers on another site. The Chargers haven't won @ Miami in 32 years. They have their number. Congrats on the win. You guys are rocking and rolling. We sucked an egg yesterday. We always seem to lose to the Pats @ NE. That is 3 straight regular season trips to the Razor. We lost to them last year and then beat them in the AFC title game. Perhaps the same thing this year as well. Who knows?

Any given Sunday.

You are writing erotica? Really? I couldn't do that. I would be laughing too hard at myself as I wrote it. I would start off so serious of course but I'm sure I would turn it into a comedy in short order. Sally laid on the bed waiting for Ted to ravish her. He entered the room. His long wavy hair billowing in the breeze of the fan in the faintly lit room. It was at that moment that his hair brushed over the lit candles.... (fill in the comedic blanks).

Hey Kicksie!

You'd think that your game was the only one played yesterday. I was watching all the sports shows to hear statistics and some praise for the great outcome of Danny M working with Tannehill for the past week, every day and Philbin being away for a couple of days, missing practices. No matter what station I turned to, they were talking about the shoot out in Massachusetts. Nothing I hate more than listening to them suck up and blab about the honorable BB and his golden QB. I hate them both!!! I also happen to like Peyton Manning a lot. I finally gave up because I began to doubt that our game was ever played, lol.

Meanwhile, yes, I tried my hand at erotica. Your little piece (no pun intended) had me 'going' for a minute. Actually, my little blue novel just happens to have humor woven in--I mean, can you really picture ME writing a novel like that without keeping my tongue in my cheek (again with the punning). So between being trapped between the rather hard core approach of mine and my tendency to get funny about that stuff, when I finished, one of my big fans of my mystery work happened to approach me to work with her on a novel. Talk about timing! I told her I had already written one, but it's a tad too hard core. I offered to give it to her to soften up (her work is excellent). She accepted and as she did each chapter, she'd send it to me for editing. She's' terrific and we worked very well together. It's just about finished now and we'll see how it comes out - snicker snicker! It's very very naughty and I'll be using a pen name so my mystery fans hopefully will never know it's me! I learned a LOT about sex from her (had no idea I was so naive, but I doubt I'll be doing another, as it's way out of my league.

I hope next week will be better for your team! Perhaps they will be sufficiently pissed about this week that they will be smoking mad next week--go Denver!!!

We beat Buffalo by a respectable 22 - 9; however, most of our points came in the fourth quarter. There is no consistency in the games. People keep talking playoffs, but I believe the talk is premature and only serves to make Coach Bonehead cockier, thus the team cockier and that is a perfect recipe (as any long time Dolphin fan will attest) for disaster.

Actually, this talking to myself is getting to be a bore--don't know how much longer I should keep the Forum running. Crazy to keep a football forum open and paying for me to talk to me. I'm sure anyone else would have shut this place down a long, long time ago, but I keep believing there will be a resurgence. I hold this belief because I keep thinking that folks will eventually tire of all the ads and other stuff going on at facebook. I know I am!

Hi CK!

I don't think it looks like this place will ever be the way it was back in the day. Its sad because it used to be bustling with energy and laughter. We were like one big happy family. But like some families, they tend to drift apart over time. Also, some family members don't seem to like other members. When I started posting here again, Em took off. I don't think he ever particular liked me. More of tolerated me I think. He posted at Kicks Korner because he was trying to be civil. I could be reading the whole situation wrong but he left here saying that he has had computer problems but seems to post at other sites on a semi regular basis. Me, when I was gone? I just tell it like it is. I wasn't here because no one else was here. Its almost like this is just public email at this point. Hope nothing I said offends you. That is just my take on things. I left for a bit hoping maybe he would come back. He was a much more regular poster for you. I am kind of hit and miss and that likely won't change any time soon. Just the way I am. I do like to chat with you though. I am just not as regular as some folks. Although, since they aren't posting at all......

My Broncos suck. Plain and simple. Losing to St. Louis was inexcusable. Our teams play this week. Your team is on a roll and we are on a slide. Although the game is in Denver and we haven't lost a home game yet. Good luck to your team. They are making progress as we are regressing.

Hugs to you and yours. <3

Thanks so much for your honesty, kicks--and no, I would never take offense to someone (especially you) saying the obvious.

I'm not so naive as to pretend I didn't see it coming. I would get private messages from this one and that one saying they wouldn't come around if so and so was here, but I felt I had gone through all that money and time to create a place where people could open their own rooms or topic rooms, which allowed everyone to have autonomous control--much like at Faux, but trying as well as I could to avert the really awful bashing that went on there.

Facebook is great, but it's all out there for everyone to see whether or not you set your privacy sessions high (because you can't stop people from seeing your posts, save for the ones on their specific page. Yet, the bigger facebook got, the more defections here.

I wanted to create a place away from the world's eye for football fanatics like most of us were that was dedicated to football year 'round. Instead, people chose to get picky about who was around (showing lots of respect to me, lol) and either quietly disappearing or giving me lame excuses about why they couldn't post here. It was in some ways amusing to see all those who'd given me excuses conversing happily all over facebook while I was left alone here, licking my wounds!

I loved being able to come and visit here late at night when I couldn't sleep and see all the fun going on here with the mid-west and westerners. Any time, day or night, you are so right--this place was buzzing. I tried speaking rationally to the people I had grown closest to, but it was clear that they just chose to leave and no discussion from me would change it.

I do enjoy our little private meetings here, kicksie--but you don't have to feel obligated. Em went from being the most loyal of everyone to not even having enough respect for me to say adieu. If you made him uncomfortable and that's why he left, good riddance to him.

I believe we play Denver this weekend, so your team has a good chance for one in the W column. I'm not buying into all the hype about the Fins. Coach Bonehead is an asshole. Love you, and hope to see you soon, c.

Happy Day after Thanksgiving CK. Someone told me on Wednesday to have a safe Thanksgiving. I said "Safe... are you kidding? I plan to eat so much turkey that I explode. To hell with safe". lol

And I pretty much did. Ate too much that is. Didn't explode.

Yes, the Broncos beat your Fins. But for a long part of that game, you guys were rolling. So much so that I turned the TV off in disgust. I checked back a little bit later and we blew up the points. I personally think, as many of us delusionally do, that I can change the outcome of the game by turning it off for a bit. Or changing clothes. Or some other ridiculous thing. Like that one beer commercial used to say. Its only crazy if it doesn't work.

Don't be too harsh on Em. He was a good friend to you and he might come around someday. I always say to not burn bridges. I try not to. Sometimes, it can't be helped. But if at all possible, I try not to. My point was not to make others look bad. I just said that I am pretty honest about things. If I'm not here, I don't make up excuses. I just say, Hey (insert name) I wasn't here. Deal with it. lol

You have a great weekend. Good luck to your team. They are still in the hunt and crazy things can happen. Ya never know. Hugs to you and yours.

<3

P.S. Have you heard from Bags at all? She stopped posting suddenly on her page on Fox over a month ago and people were worried. Well, it was pretty much me that was worried.

Glad you had a satisfyingly filling Thanksgiving, kicksie--we did here as well! Our fridge is STILL full after all the eating the 7 of us staying here this week continue to do! We're packaging the leftovers up for freezing today.

I did not mean in any way to put Emeritus down. I was just expressing disappointment after he had been so loyal for so long! It was a bit of a surprise when he disappeared so suddenly. I didn't intend to be a bitch about his leaving--it just took me by surprise. I am really grateful for him staying as long as he did! I'm just more like you, and when I'm leaving, I say I am--no excuses.

As for Bags, she has been around and sounds really good under the circumstances. She's coming down to Florida for her yearly trip and going on a cruise with a good friend. She's some terrific lady. I hope I'll get to see her when she's down here, but she's on the other side of the State, so it's a bit of shlepp to get together. We'll see what happens!

Well, time to start counting calories till Christmas-time, lol. First half of this Packer game they amassed 347 yards. Hope they do at least as well in the second half. I think they are the only team that can at least win one game over the Patriots, which would make my weekend!

Thanks again for keeping this place alive - hugs from c.

Howdy CK.

I have been posting from a phone the last few weeks and I have to say its not my favorite way to post. The office that I manage was on its own server and I could be online whenever I wanted. The offices merged servers a few weeks back and I have to curtail all posting to work related only. I don't tend to post much in the evening on my laptop. How are things in your neck of the woods? Are the dolphins out of the playoff picture? It would have helped you and me both if they could have won. But it is what it is. You have improved this year. And if you continue to improve each year, you will be back in the hunt soon enough.

Hope your health is good. Talk soon.

So many places are stopping employees from using their computers for anything that isn't work-related. I'm sure it's because the average employee can't manage his or her time to begin with--so with the option of chatting with friends and other joys of the Internet, it could be quite detrimental to getting work done. I too hate using my phone vs. computer. Even though I have one of the big smartphones, I do much better on a full keyboard.
For me, yesterday's game was (in a way) a win-win. Embarrassing ourselves AGAIN made the odds greater that they would be calling for Coach Bonehead's release. Ross has consistently made poor personnel choices, unhappily, so it leaves a question as to whether he is capable of hiring a good coach. I'm nothing but a football fan with a Masters in Sports Administration, and I called it right each time from the beginning. Aw, if I had a coupla billion bucks hanging around, I'd definitely buy the team and set things right - hopefully before I say my last good-bye.....
Sorry we couldn't play a decent game, win and help your Broncos in any way, but at least you've clinched, along with the Patriots (UGH). I freaking hate the Pats and the last thing I want is to have to watch another SB with them in it!!! GO BRONCOS...
Hope all is well with you, and I promise to root for whichever team plays opposite the Broncos. I'm cursed and have to root for the team I want to lose, you know. Take care and I'll keep my eyes open for when you're able to come around and visit. Big Hugs! <3

Happy Holidays CK. I know you aren't religious so I am uncertain if Merry Christmas is appropriate. What the hell, Merry Christmas anyways. I hope you are surrounded by family and loved ones this holiday season. Congrats on your win against the Vikings. I'm sorry that your team was eliminated. We sucked it up against Cincy which is really difficult for me because I live in the Cincy area nowadays. But I am certain that the playoffs will be a different story. I don't see them going very far. We may not go very far either if we have to play NE. They are a beast at home. As you well know. We are also undefeated at home this season but the reason that we went to the Superbowl last year was that NE came to Denver in the AFC Championship. Now, the roll is reversed. Well, it is just a game.

I heard that your coach's job was possibly saved because of the win. Is that true? I know, your hope is for a complete revamp in the coaching staff. Bags made an appearance on the Indy page at Fox. It was nice to hear that she is doing well. She was bummed about the devastating loss to the Cowboys. Who look pretty good this year. Congrats to Dred, if he is hoovering.

Well, little lady, you have a great Holiday. May your spirits be ever so bright.

Hey kicksie! I respect and accept all holidays, so thank you for your sweet Christmas wishes. I'm an atheist, but not dumb--so any wishes toward me that are made with open heart are always a thrill.

Football--ah, another lost season! How Ross got so rich is way beyond me. What kind of a moron has such an unsteady team and announces before the end of the season makes a final announcement regarding a below mediocre coach? So in this final fiasco against the Jests wherein Coach Bonehead makes every possible coaching error in the universe, Ross is sitting there with a confirmed nitwit for next year. I don't think he's man enough to stand up and admit he made a mistake, so I suppose we are stuck with yet another year of mediocrity and pathetic, heartbreaking losses. One more year that Tannehill has no real coaching to help make strides--of which he has made an incredible leap on his own and with a little help from Dan Marino. It is too much to dream that he will go out on that limb and re-evaluate his decision and just cut his losses by letting Philbin go.

I've been wiped out by the worst flu I've had in 35 years. I've had it a week now and even taking a shower wipes me out. I have not even stepped out of bed for anything but bathroom trips--any more than that and I'm totally demolished.

Wishing you a very happy new year and at least a couple of rounds into the playoffs! I'll be thinking of you! Big holiday hugs, c.

CK,

I hope you are feeling better. There has been a nasty flu going around. Seems to last about a week so you are probably better by now I would guess.

Can't wait for this weekend. Should be some great games. Ravens know how to beat New England @ New England. And if they don't I bet they soften them up for us.

Thought the officiating in the Lions/Cowboy game was horrible. But I loathe Istompinyou Suh so glad the Boys won. Glad for Dred too. He needs to stop by here and say hi.

Talk soon. Hugs

Ok I wanted Broncos to win. They lost.

Wanted Oregon Ducks to win. They lost.

Wanted GB to win. They lost.

Wanted Indy to win. They lost.

So this leads to one conclusion. Whoever I root for this season will lose. Go Pats.

Blah. I threw up a little.

AHA! You find yourself in the same sad place as I. I purposely didn't root for any teams and went so far as to not even watch the Patriots play. They are so far removed from ethics of any kind--even with this deflategate thing, they don't get it. They are defending themselves with no clue at all to what the real problem is. IMHO, it's not a matter of whether you win or lose because you cheat, it's the fact that you cheated (AGAIN). Goes all the way back to the snow plow stunt in the '70s, where the cheating certainly did affect the outcome of the game--put them in the playoffs and knocked us out. Then spygate, now this and who the hell knows what other stunts they've pulled that never got caught.

I am absolutely sick that no one seems to understand the problem here and moreso that the Patriots are going to go to the Superbowl and probably win--although it would be a wonderful surprise if the Seahawks were able to slaughter everything Patriot that night.

My team has been out of it for so long, I've forgotten what it's like to have a team for which to root. This owner does everything but what is necessary! Four hundred seventy million for stadium enrichment so he can get some more Superbowls here, but what about my Dolphins.

GRRRRRRRRRRR.....

Hi Ck,

Glad you are feeling better. And feisty as ever I see. You hit the nail on the head with the Patriots. They will find any way to win. Cheat, lie, and cheat and lie some more. They have the fans believing that they can do no wrong. They (fans) all wear rose colored glasses. I bet they get away with so many things that we will never even find out about. When we hired Josh McDaniels as our head coach, he tried to cheat as well with videotaping and we found out and fired his butt. That stuff wont fly in our organization. But the Patriots took him back because that is the kind of team they are. Its sickening.

I dont like the Seahawks but I hope they win. For decency sake at a minimum. I think they are thuggish as far as teams go but its not been proven that they cheat.

Ok.. off my high horse. Sorry to any of the Patriot fans that I may have offended. But that's my take and the take of a good majority of the rest of the nation.

Enjoy the game. I will watch it for the commercials most likely and use the game time to eat and go to the restroom. Talk to you soon CK.

I'm with you all the way on the Pats! How weird was that last play of the Seahawks? If I didn't know better, I'd swear that Philbin called it. That's EXACTLY what he does to lose big leads we have. How can a team that's been so well coached make an error like that? I can't believe he did this on his own--such a horrendous mistake in the Superbowl? I I really were a conspiracy theorist, I'd be saying that BB or one of his henchman put something in Carroll's Gatorade. It was far too grievous a mistake for someone as smart as Carroll.
It would seem we don't have an **hooverers (at least that are Pat fans) or for sure they'd be coming down here and letting us have it, lol. Here in Miami The brilliant businessman is at work making our stadium so incredible, that it will have folks fighting for seats as they've changed the entire configuration and turned it into the TajMajal with nothing said or done with the team from nowhere. It's all about the stadium and getting your seat choices in quickly enough get a good one. What a clusterfuck  .
Have you seen the renderings? Give me your email and next time I get one of my emails (almost daily) showing me the incredible lengths they've gone to make it completely unaffordable. Sigh... :(

Hey CK.

Sorry its been a bit. Very slow during the off season. Free agency starts at 4 PM today. That should be exciting. As much as I dislike Suh as a person, I think he will be a game changer for your team. Congrats. He is a beast. I am hearing that there are possible tampering issues with announcing his deal before the deadline but that will hopefully just be a fine. With the hiring of Suh, perhaps the front office is thinking a bit more about your teams future. They supposedly cut 6 players to make room. Are most of them casualties that would have happened anyways or did you lose any really good players?

I will talk to you again later. Hope all is well your way. :)

As always, mush-head Ross screwed up. He announced he was signing Suh before negotiations were allowed. So who knows what's going to happen with that signing... We have let go of Hartline, our most reliable receiver and a few other solid, dependable players. In the end, the coaching is going to be the great 'decider,' and there are no changes there. The outlook is dismal, but the good news is, I was able to get the seats I wanted near my "Dolphin Family." So many lost their seats (because shit-for-brains Ross took away 15,000 seats in the renovations. I was one of the lucky ones because I've owned seats since 1970, so I chose on the 3rd day. The seat choosing goes on through March 20th and started February 26th or 27th. Doing the math, a lot of people are being screwed out of their great seats. On top of that, he's allowing people to add as many seats as they already have--meaning, f'rinstance, someone like me who has 4 seats could have ordered 8 and set them up where I choose. So along with there being 15,000 less seats, there are all the extra seats people are purchasing (one of my seatmates has like 20 seats and added another 20--he uses them for business). Can you imagine the poor schmuck who bought seats in 2010--who has a March 18th date for choosing?

So that's my story and I'm sticking to it, lol. Evan is coming down today for his 1st birthday party tomorrow. I haven't seen him in a couple of months, so I am really psyched! It will be interesting to see where our teams go with their choices from here on out. We must have about 3 dollars left after the Suh deal...

Thanks for visiting Switzerland--it's always great to hear from you. You know, you're welcome to choose a game and come down for it (on me). We have plenty of guest rooms open here at Laurence Manor...

Hi CK!

Hope you had a great visit with Evan. 1 year old? Time flies by, doesn't it?

That's crazy the way the Dolphins are handling season tickets. It seems so unfair.

I still think the Suh signing is a good one. I hope it works out for you. I don't like the guy but there is no doubt that he is a huge talent. Any other moves? My team has been very quiet this off season. They made a huge splash in free agency last year and then crickets this year.

Do you watch any if the NCAA tournament? I love March Madness. Was glued to the TV this last weekend.

Thanks for the invite. If I find myself down that way I might take you up on your offer. At the very least I could say hello. We will see. Very generous of you.

Talk soon.
