Yes, Mike--we were talking about how boring the HOF game is, year after year--and last night was no exception. A real ho-hum of an evening, and that's the truth! Huge hopes for a great Phin season!

I've had so much going on in my life, what with my dad's illness and all that sort of awful stuff, my dates got all screwy, and I just realized that the first game is this week, and I haven't yet gotten my tix! I have to call my man in charge and find out wtf happened. I guess I'm going to have to go up and pick them up if I intend to go this weekend--tho I'm not al that sure that I am going to go what with the heat and the rain going on down here right now...

We've been ticket holders for nearly 40 years. During the early years, we lived on bread and water so we could buy our tix!

I had mine from 71 to 92 and got disgruntaled and gave them up. Sometimes I'm not extremely bright. I did get to see an awsome super bowl.

You can always get new tix, Mike. There is no waiting list--or even a short line, lol.

Ground-Breaking Partnership Between Dolphins And The City Of Boca Raton

The Miami Dolphins and the City of Boca Raton have teamed up in a ground-breaking partnership to present the FINS' South Florida's Biggest Away Game Party in DOWNTOWN BOCA, serving as the Dolphins' Away Game Central. The announcement was made jointly today by Miami Dolphins' CEO Mike Dee and City of Boca Mayor Susan Whelchel and Council Members Susan Haynie, Constance Scott, Mike Mullaugh and Anthony Majhess at the first official Dolphins' pep rally of the 2010 Season held in Downtown Boca at Mizner Park Amphitheater. On-hand for the historic moment were Dolphins' alumni Nat Moore, Dwight Stephenson, Jim Kiick, Troy Drayton, Keith Byars, and Manny Fernandez as well as Dolphins' Cheerleaders, TD the Mascot, and hundreds of Dolphins' fans.

Serving as a kick-off to the debut of Downtown Boca's Super Sundays programming, the Dolphins away game parties will be free and open to the public with free parking available in the four Mizner Park garages and at other designated commercial parking areas within walking distance to activities. Held at various locations in Downtown Boca, the away game parties will feature large screen airing of the away games, and include a Dolphins MC, Q&A with team alumni, performances by the Dolphins' Cheerleaders, plenty of family fun with bounce houses and quarterback toss games, photos with TD the mascot, special giveaways, and more.

Unfortunately, our new owner is more about promotion and parties than about football. Now he's appointed a city 40+ miles from Miami as our "home" central? I guess soon we'll become the "South Florida Dolphins," a la New England Patriots!
You've heard me remark about our stadium (besides being the the joke of name changes throughout the league)--it's been painted up by the artist Brito (a popular South Florida and International artist, known for his bright colors and whimsical style). It looks very much like "Candyland," and I think it is totally inappropriate for an NFL Stadium. Yet Ross (the owner  ) loves his artists and movie stars. I absolutely cringe at his "orange carpet," where those celebrities that own eensy weensy bits of the team, walk on when they enter the stadium. Oh yeah. And those big screen shots throughout the game of J-Lo and Mark Antony, et al., waving at the crowd and saying, "Fins Up!" Helloooooo Mr. Ross!!!! This is football, NOT the weekly red-carpet premier of a movie!!!!!
I think I need a Dolphin game to get me past all this petty stuff... It's just that I'd love to go back to FOOTBALL, not all of Sir Ross's opportunities to rub shoulders with (who he considers) the stars... :x

I'm watching the splashfest in Miami. I adored Bob Griese when he was QBing here; however, I'm forced to face the fact that he is one totally lame announcer!

This is really sloppy, but I am alarmed that once again the zebras have flag fever. I had hoped the ridiculous # of flags thrown (often stupidly) would be dealt with in the off-season, but it looks like it didn't happen. The games were so long last year, and not because they were exciting. Flag here, flag there, everywhere a flag, flag--I mean really!

Gee, thanks Griese. We couldn't tell that the Phins have done next to nothing--appreciate your telling us.
This poor kid Marlon Moore--Wide Receiver, just dropped a real easy pass right there for the whole world to see. I'm thinking this little free agent out of Fresno State might have blown his big chance.

Even though the Phins played most of the game in the mud--score at half-time: TB 7 - Phins 3

Anyone (um, I guess that's you, Em  ) know if Sporano is a midget or if everyone around him (including a reporter) are giants?

My vote for best come back in the game? (As of the 3rd quarter) Marlon Moore! I wrote the poor kid off too soon. Thigpen to Moore...nice big pick up, which set the Phins up for their first touchdown AND the opportunity for them to move ahead in this game. Phins 10 - TB 7 (Well, it's better than nothing.) Nice hustle guys! Thigpen is looking much better than I expected.

Hey, you forgot to mention an extreme effort by Ness and your corectamundo about Greise. And the Dolphins win it.

It sure wasn't pretty, Peddle, but it sure showed us where we need improvement (everywhere, ha ha). Thing is, TB has much the same weather as we do--save for it's much more humid over there. My point is that they are as used to this weather as we are (or as we should be), yet the sloppy play was on both sides. It will be interesting to see where we are going with the season...
