peddlefest wrote:CK, I think you've uncovered my problem watching Henne play. I'm a Dan Marino junkyto start with. I guess I'm to accustomed to watching the ball being snapped and immediatly being rifled down field. Henne drives me crazy in the pocket. He stands there long enough to do a poka.

That has bothered me from the start, Ped. Watching him fidget while the defenders are making their way over for the sack, has me knotted up every time. Since Danny, I judge every QB through the "Danny Standard." His quick release was magical! Henne can make that really difficult throw that Danny used to make, and when I first saw that, I first thought maybe Henne might have something. He has Danny's accuracy (and it drives me mad when he delivers the ball into receiver's hands and they drop/botch/miss the catch), and makes that really difficult throw--but he is just glued to that pocket! I don't know that that is something he can overcome, either. Could be a deal breaker, but then who? Pennington? He's steady and accurate--so long as his target is right in front of him and within ten yards, but there will be no long balls and no surprises to defenders. I can't even watch New Orleans play thinking Drew Brees could have been ours, save for yet another bad decision...

Thanks you guys, it got ugly in the second half at the kick off and didn't stop....
I for the life of me didn't understand how in any way shape or form Henne couldn't have seen those defenders he was playing catch with?! That's got to change pronto for us to have any sort of a chance this year. Our schedule is butt ugly scary too.
I guarantee No loss for the Phins this week!!!

I found my picture I posted it on another thread oops!

The Pats had a bunch of help from the Zeebs last night. Miami played a great game and stayed in it till the very end. A very noble effort by all. I do not consider this a big win we capitalized on a few forced throws. The Dolphins coverage was outstanding you played the best first half of any team I have watched this year and should be very proud! I am very sorry for you loss Phin Phans I hate it when it comes from my teams hands. :(

Thanks STC, I'm hoping for some butt kicking during the bye week and come back way more polished. We have some talent, we just have to play smart football.

(((((Limps slowly into the room, face twisted in shock  --pain audible))))) I have to tell you, the past two games I had a gut feeling we would lose, but I never, ever saw a beating like this coming. I saw on Henne's face (after his second interception) that he'd lost faith in himself (and for good reason). Pennington should have been saddled and ready for action as he came in as the QB in the second half. I say that because he is a team leader (as is Jason Taylor, who might have been able to get the special teams under control), and has a calming effect on the offense. No long passes, but a whole different look and feeling...

I know it gets boring when I start with my mantra about Jimmy Johnson and now Parcells leaving our teams in disarray, but I am a lay person (okay dred, 16--get those smirks of your faces  ), and I've seen it all along. ("It" being the lack of chemistry, the QB/Receivers lack of chemistry--and everyone knows what I mean by that; the failure to recognize that the team's success with the wildcat was over and the running backs not being used properly; the HORRENDOUS play calling, and the list goes on and on.)

Waverly: Unfortunately, the Patriot fans that attended the game last night weren't nearly as gracious as you. They started taunting early, and sang the "Na-na Good-bye" song throughout the fourth quarter, leaving the stadium and in the parking lot. It was tough enough to watch the team collapse as it did, but the taunting was killer...

Sorry about the loss, ck. I had a bad feeling about this game. Until the interceptions, it looked like the Dolphins were in complete control. Then suddenly the wheels fell off. I still don't have it figured out. How can somebody be sharp and then suddenly lose it completely?

[color=#0080BF]I too was had a bad feeling about this game (as well as last week's game). As I said before, I could see Henne was spooked after that second interception, the coaches should have seen it as well! WTF do we have Pennington for, if you don't use him in a critical game like that one??? He was the perfect QB to settle the troops and get them moving with some confidence. It was 7-6 at the half, bring Pennington in for the second half and see what he can do. As far as defense and special teams--yeah, go ahead, tell me it is a young group--and I'll come back with then WTF did you let a veteran like Jason Taylor go (to a division rival for a stinkin' mil!) when he could have taken hold of defense and special teams and charged them up--especially after the 103-yard return for a touchdown by the Pats on the first play of the second half?!?! It was a million ays from ugly last night and it just breaks my heart to see this ridiculousness year after year... I see that the Dolphins have fired the special teams coach. Isn't that closing the barn door after the horse is out?

You've got that oh, so right, Em! Oh, and promotes the assistant to take over. I wonder why he hasn't fired the offensive coach that keeps calling those gawd-awful plays, and I know who it is, MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA--along with every other Dolphin fan that's paying attention!!! I'm doing the "Cam Cameron Rag." We are in trouble. After 3 years of Parcells' tutelage, we are back to square one...
