SB, you just look at the list of games, make out your list of winners from it and then post your winners here.

All righty then--here are my picks (although the competition here is so tough, I wonder why I bother...)
Ravens (Just because I had to pick at least one of them... :D )
Bengals (I haven't looked at the other picks, but this looks like it might be fun... :o )
Texans (I know this is a stretch, what with the Cowboys hurting and needy for a win, but Go Texans ;) )
49ers (Coin Toss here, plus a soft spot for poor 16... :) )
Vikings (Assuming Favre will be playing, which at this point I believe is a stretch--but if he's there, he NEEDS a win)
Patriots (Although it hurts to choose them, and you can be sure, I'll be pulling hard for Buffalo! )
Falcons (Just wishing to make sure the Saints recognize that they are human  )
Giants (My son-in-law is a Gints fan, and I love him so much--Bags too :geek: )
Bucs (Aw heck. I don't like either team, but I think I'd be a teen-eensy bit happier to see a Steeler loss )
Jaguars (The Eagles are really getting on my nerves  )
Redskins (For Kat, even though she has broken her promise to come over here and chill  )
Cardinals (Coin Toss)
Colts (This one was easy: I love Bags--and Utah is a Swiss deserter!)
Seahawks (Another easy one. LadyHawk--this Bud's for you! Heh Heh :D )
DOLPHINS (Well, hell's bells--you know I NEVER pick against my team--regardless! :P )
Bears (Still hold a grudge against Packers for what happened with Favre  )

Week by week I give you my solid, scientific reasoning for my choices...just so's ya' know what's going on in my deteriorating mind. Now I have to go check to see who everyone else (meaning all those who actually pick using a little more objective methods) has chosen.

BTW: Does it feel like the list of games gets longer every week now, or is it just me???

I'm hoping for the best w/ my Cowboys this weekend, but the best thing that could happen to Dallas is to get whooped by Houston. Maybe Jerry being 0-3 in HIS superbowl year will force him to get a REAL head coach and coordinator in here. Probably won't, but still.

I can understand your frustration, TC. For the last few years the Cowboys have been the most talented, but underachieving team in football. They need somebody who will make them play up to their talent level and Wade Phillips isn't up to that. Garrett's play calling makes me wonder for whom he is working. The nice guy way didn't work and it's time to bring in the bad cop.

I've heard that Bill Cower and Chucky are available, but I doubt if they would take the job as long as Jerry Jones interferes. Players would go over Wade Phillips head to Jones when they had disputes and no coach worth a damn would tolerate that. It was only after Garrett's idiot call cost the Cowboys their first game of the season that Phillips got the authority to overrule Garrett's calls. Can you imagine a good coach sitting still for that?

Feeling like crap, so I figured I'd better get my picks in while I can somewhat concentrate.

Ravens ~~~(should be a no brainer)
Bengals ~~~(time for the bengals to put a complete game together)
Texans ~~~(home field and it might be a blessing for the Cowboys to go 0-3 and maybe force the plastic mans hand to abandon ship with Wade)
49ers ~~~(it pains me)
Vikings ~~~(I think Favre has a good game)
Patriots ~~~(I can't even begin to tell you how much I'd love to be wrong here!)
Saints ~~~(still believing in the Saints until I can't)
Giants ~~~(coin flip goes to home field)
Steelers ~~~(tough call because the Bucs are playing better than I thought, but I think the Steelers are saying we can win without Big Ben too)
Eagles ~~~(Don't like Vick, but he'll come to play)
Redskins ~~~(the better team, should win by 10)
Cardinals ~~~(have I told you that I hate the Raiders?)
Colts ~~~(playing catch up to the Texans, they'll be tough to beat)
Chargers ~~~(coin flip)
Dolphins ~~~(with Revis and possibly Mangold & Taylor out, gotta strike while we can)
Packers ~~~(was tempted go with the Bears until the buzz wore off)

Re: Weekly NFL picks (week3)

Postby SteveTheCat » Sun Sep 26, 2010 12:38 am

I am not even sure if this is Okay, but here are my published picks (I hope I do not get in trouble)

NFL Picks Week Three

Browns Vs Ravens Ravens
The Ravens were not the team we expected last week. Delhomme looks to be very questionable for the Browns in favor of the higher rated Wallace. I have to believe we will see the Ravens of week 1 back on the field to take the win. 21-17

Bengals Vs Panthers Bengals

The Panthers well, Denard Robinson is within yards of out rushing and passing the entire team with two game total yardage compared to D’Rob in just one of his three outings. 17-10

Cowboys Vs Texans Texans

Schaub and Foster are a winning combination in Houston. The Texans defense needs to step up a bit for all four quarters. The Cowboys are in some sort of funk and it does not look like the week they will step out of the fog. 24-17

49ers Vs Chiefs Chiefs

How Bout that Stadium! The fans will need to be loud and proud to help their team to victory. Neither team is an offensive powerhouse and the key will be in turnovers. I’m giving this to the Chiefs with the 49ers heading home with a ringing in their ears, clicking their cleats together saying there’s no place like Kansas City. 20-14

Lions Vs Vikings Vikings

I really wanted to pick the Lions. They had a great week against the Eagles. They had a “should have won” against the Bears. Brett looks tired and unskilled, but the Viking defense is holding the team together. Hill has done a great job stepping up for the injured Stafford. Favre and Hill have to stop the turnovers and start moving the team. The nod goes to the Vikes, on the legs of Peterson. 28-24

Bills Vs Patriots Patriots

Fitzpatrick is slated to start for the Bills and he has been known for passing out interceptions, lets just hope they are passed the Pats way. The Patriots defense was not the same as on week 1 and I am hoping for a return of that kind of play. 27- 10

Falcons Vs Saints Saints

The World Champion Saints are a team that is always in the right place at the right time. The team is quick to react to most any situation. The same goes for the Falcons as well. I went back an forth on this pick and in the end its hard to stop the Saints when they are marching at home. 17- 13

Titans Vs Giants Giants

This is a toss-up; both teams are come off losing weeks. Eli will be looking to avenge his loss to big brother last week. Which, should give the Giants the edge they need to win. 24 - 20

Steelers Vs Bucs Steelers

The Bucs have looked great this season, but the Steelers have been able to defeat more worthy adversaries. The offense is not there for the Steelers, although their defense is as always present and formidable. 17- 16

Eagles Vs Jaguars Eagles

Can and Eagle give a Cat a break? In this case me not the Jaguars, they are making predictions tough. Vick is in Vick is out Kolb is on Kolb is out. With the news that Vick is back at the helm the Eagles get the nod. 28- 13

Redskins Vs Rams Redskins

This pick does not really need a lot of explanation. McNabb was unhappy with last weeks overtime loss to the Texans and the Rams will take the heat. 28 - 16

Raiders Vs Cards Raiders

So much for my theory on the Cards gelling last week more like turning into jelly. The Raiders in this match up are the slightly better of the two lesser teams. 17 - 13

Colts Vs Broncos Colts

The Broncos look great. Orton is shaping into a first class QB and they are playing very well. The caveat is Peyton playing in the confident and team-leading manner he showed last week. No team can best the Colts when Manning is on fire. 34-28

Chargers Vs Hawks Chargers

This is a tough call. The Seahawks had an amazing first week and the Chargers an amazing second week. Rivers is back in the saddle and looking to put the Arrowhead Rain Bowl far behind them. 24 17

Jets Vs Dolphins Jets

I hate this pick. Please Dolphins prove me wrong. The two teams are pretty evenly matched, but the Jets are so full of themselves right now it is hard to beat a team that actually thinks they are infallible. 23- 20

Packers Vs Bears Packers

The passing defense of the Pack should put a dent in a pretty great start for Cutler. The Pack led by Rogers will hold on and take this win from the very improved Bears. 17-13

I was just a step above you at 9-7. Ended with same record as CK and a bunch of others. CK pulled the 9th inning homer with that Bears pick. I tell you I might as well just flip a coin this year. I keep saying it. Maybe thats how I will do this weeks picks.
