Welcome to Switzerland. That's Mont Blanc in the background.

Hey, I'm retired, so maybe I could get a job as a Wal-Mart greeter.

FRANKLIN, Wis., Aug. 24 (UPI)

A Wisconsin Walmart store threw a party to celebrate the birthday of its oldest employee, a 100-year-old woman. Lois Speelman, who works as a greeter at the Franklin store in Milwaukee County, was the guest of honor at the store Monday during a party with cake and balloons celebrating her Wednesday birthday, WISN-TV, Milwaukee, reported Tuesday. Speelman, who works about 35 hours per week, still drives herself to work.

Here's a photo of the rear of our new home. Actually, it's the guest house at Kicks Korner.

I would think that ANYONE who is a visitor here is a friend - in some way or fashion - of a current football blogger or of CK, which would lead me to believe that they have a sense of humor about things. And wasn't the original point of Switzerland was "no drama"? Sooo...I personally found dred's sign to be amusing.

"And the living have a responsibility to remember the conditions that led to the wars in which our heroes died. Perhaps we can start by remembering this: that all of those who died for us and our country were, in one way or another, victims of a peace process that failed; victims of a decision to forget certain things; to forget, for instance, that the surest way to keep a peace going is to stay strong. Weakness, after all, is a temptation—it tempts the pugnacious to assert themselves—but strength is a declaration that cannot be misunderstood. Strength is a condition that declares actions have consequences. Strength is a prudent warning to the belligerent that aggression need not go unanswered.

Having visited the Soviet Union in 1986 when it was a communist state, I can most assuredly tell you that we live in a land of GREAT abundance; most of us don't know the concept of "hunger" or being "poor" or "going without." And because of our nation's great veterans who have sacrificed so much, we live in the richest nation on this planet. Thank you to all veterans for the freedoms we enjoy... <3

I have the greatest respect for those who serve our country in any capacity, including the military. From personal experience I'm very cynical about why wars are fought. It is an insanity from which I hope that our species recovers before before it makes us extinct.

"Why our wars are fought"

I'm sure there are some deep philosphical discussions that could be brought forth on this, but I am not a philosphical person and don't want to get into something that I really don't know enough about. And trouble always starts here when we venture too far away from football (at least in my opinion)...

That's a good point, LadyHawk. I'm still trying to accustom myself to the fact that here were can discuss anything that we like as long as we set up a separate topic for it. At any rate, thanks to our veterans on Veterans Day.

True indeed, Emeritus. If someone wants to set up a room here devoted to a topic of their choosing then - as we all learned recently - they have the "freedom" to do so.

Thursday Night Football...since I don't subscribe to the NFL network, it doesn't even cross my mind. That said...

I think I'll go out on a limb and go with Atlanta. Just for s**** and giggles. :D
