I thought that by the time I was sixty-two I would have things figured out, but I haven't. I've made a lot of observations, but there's a lot that I still don't understand. One thing that still puzzles me is that some people just won't let themselves be happy. They will keep looking until they find something to be unhappy about. Others spend their days dreaming up things that could go wrong. I encountered an elderly (even compared to me) lady in Starship Hallmark the other day who said that by next year bread would cost twenty-five dollars a loaf. Other people walk around with a chip on their shoulders and fantasize how they will hurt anybody who offends them. I've given up on understanding it. Every day is good enough and even little things can please you if you let them. I can see a little kid laugh and it makes me feel good all day.

I'm always happy when I wake up again in the morning. It's all downhill from there for me.

Hell, I see my dog wag his stub of a tail and it pleases me that he's happy with something (although I never can figure out what he's so thrilled about...lol)

One of my favorite Hollywood people was Paul Newman. Anybody who starts peddling spaghetti sauce to benefit the poor is OK in my book. He liked to race cars and won a race when he was in his Seventies. Congratulated about it, he said that he was grateful just to have a pulse. Every day that I wake up is a good day. What I do with it is up to me. The older I get, the more certain that attitude is everything. We can't control all of the circumstance of our lives, but we can choose how we will react to them. It's a good thing that I'm not in charge of everything, because I would totally screw things up.

Meredith was ten years older than me. When I was a teenager, the Cowboys offense was Meredith throwing to Bullet Bob Hayes. They didn't bother with short or intermediate passes. Bob Hayes wasn't a route runner, but when he turned pro he was the world record holder in the 100 meters. He'd just take off down the field and Meredith would throw it as far as he could. The only way to stop it was a pass rush and Meredith got beat up a lot. It made for entertaining football.

Albert Haynesworth suspended by the Redskins because of conduct detrimental to the club. What a puss. He doesn't deserve to play in the NFL. Poor 'skins fans...

He's a total $^&$^%^#*%$(^$(&^#%^@!!#$ - ok so he tells the GM "I'm not going to talk to the HC anymore" --- really? really? "I'm not going to play in his base defense"...really? really? I mean really? Good luck with your future fat ass.

This was the sweetheart who ripped off Andre Gurode's helmet and stomped on his face, causing lacerations (including some just under on eye) that took 30 stitches to close. When his team was penalized 15 yards for that, he took off his helmet and threw it, drawing another 15-yard penalty. And somebody signed this bum to a $100 million contract?

I'm still wondering WTH the Redskins were thinking on McNabb's contract. Really?? Reeeeally???

On Inside the NFL Peter King of Sports Illustrated said that only one year of McNabb's contract was guaranteed. At any rate it wasn't as bad as the Haynesworth deal. Dan Snyder needs to let somebody else handle the player personnel job.

Is anybody else getting a message, "Your request has timed out?" How many seconds do we have to write our message?

i would agree that no one has rattled tommy as of late...you have to disrupt his receivers at the line and put pressure on the qb...or get into a shootout...which at this time doesnt seem like a good idea...

Some talking head on Football Night in America said that teams that play zone defense get eaten up by Tom Brady. He said that he is so accurate that you have to have a defender right on the receiver all of the time, or he will kill you. In other words, you have to have the personnel to play man-to-man or it's going to be a bad day.

I think that he's played his last game. The rest of the games are meaningless and he's lost his last reason to stay. I don't think that we will be teased about will he come back or not again.
