That helmet-to-helmet contact would bring a suspension under the new rules. I predict that the Texans won't lose this week!

Please see comment in "Just Football" by ESPN analysts regarding the proposed safety changes. A different perspective.

I saw that, but I also saw analysts who agreed that something needed to be done in view of the number of concussions. Concussions can seriously effect players for life, leaving them completely incapacitated. Is entertaining the fans worth that?

My pic of Pollard and Manning would not apply because Cyborgs can't get concussions. Might knock a couple of screws loose, but that's about it.

While a cyborg can be human and machine in varying proportions, the brain is always human. Therefore the rule would apply, as long as the brain is located in the head.

You got me, 16. It's getting to where you have to be a pharmacist to know what's going on in sports. I'm only in favor of recreational drugs, like alcohol and marijuana.

At first I assumed that the players were lying when they said that they didn't know that what they were taking was illegal. I said that it was their business to know. Now I'm not so sure. The teams have to update and publish a formulary every week to try to make their players aware of what is illegal.

Dred is too funny! HAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!

This bye week couldn't have come at a better time. One, the players need the time off to heal and regroup and restrategize. Two, I work the entire weekend. A win-win for everybody!

I'm just glad that I have a whole week that I don't have to worry about our pass defense.

Thanks for the correction Dred. Now, if only you could correct our defense, that would be great.

Reecey already tried to hire a Ju Ju man to put a hex on Peyton Manning, but he said that Peyton's magic was too strong.

Since it's Houston's bye week, I'm wondering what game will be shown locally in the same spot. I assume that it will involve an AFC South team, but I don't know.

Just google your local TV provider and check their schedule play list, it might be on there already. I get the Steelers @ Dolphins game! Great other than we're playing the Steelers :o
Then Patriots @ Chargers GO CHAGRGERS! and the late game is Vikings @ Packers GO VIKINGS!
The only game that is not showing yet for here is the early FOX slot.

Guys, you can go to this site to see what games will be televised where. It is usually updated each Tuesday.

http://the506.com/sports/?cat=14

They sometimes change games as the week before the game progresses, so check often if interested. I've found that it's generally pretty accurate.

Thanks for that one, SS. One think that the map made clear was the we don't get the same game in Beaumont that is shown in Houston. We get the Pittsburgh-Miami game instead of the New Orleans game, even though we are practically on the Louisiana border.

We're in the same shape. As least we have all of the knuckleheads off suspensions. That still doesn't help our pitiful pass defense, though. It's a good thing that we can score a lot of points, or we'd be 0-6. If we can split all of our AFC South games, I'll be delighted. Last year we were 1-5 in the conference and 8-2 outside it.
