I didn't think that a pass defense could be worse than Houston's, but New Mexico makes them look good by comparison. They don't even line somebody up to cover the wide receivers. The Horned Frogs are eating them alive!

Some strangers showed up today and took the place of the Houston defense. It would sure be nice if they would hang around. Andre Johnson won the fight - I just hope that he doesn't get suspended.

Congrats on the win Texans, I am bummed though that I may be losing Andre next week... That would hurt me big time in FF!
I got to see if I can work some magic before next week.....

Great news! After having the worst pass defense in the NFL all season, the Texans have moved up a notch to thirty-first. At this rate we will be contenders in another thirty years or so. Thanks to the Patriots for beating us out for last place.

Great! If things weren't bad enough already, we get the Ravens next. We will get embarrassed in front of everybody on Monday night.

There is a good chance that Todd Heap doesn't play. I hear they are saying Owen Daniels will be back for this Monday night game too.

If we can contain their run then we may be ok. But, there's still a good chance that Flacco carves us up for 400+. Everybody else is doing it. :(

No matter how many defenders we draft, we just can't put together a decent defensive front...

When I think of how many first-round draft picks the Texans have wasted on a non-existent defense, I get disgusted. I'll just have to quit thinking about it, I guess.

Agree big time!!
Sorry Mo and Em, it all came down to a coin toss unfortunately I think.
If the Texans win that toss, the Ravens D has to go right back out there exhausted as they were the whole 4th quarter.

The Texans just don't know how to finish games. They play well against almost everybody, but they always find a way to lose in the end.

Em you guys certainly have had your share of heartbreaks this season. I think Kubiak will be added to the list of unemployed HC's after the season.

Interesting factoid:
If you're replying to someones comment and quoting it; no matter how long you spend typing it, it will all just disappear when you hit submit if the person that you were quoting deletes the post before you finish. ;)
I did have some rather good thoughts there though in any case. :D

Since I know that "factoid" is directed at me (because I wrote in disappearing ink - which I do mostly when commenting to your posts - ha!), I deleted my comment because I re-read what you wrote before and considered the merit in it. No point in my saying anything further on the subject.

It's all good.... I just had some well thought out thoughts that flew into the black hole of cyberspace and I thought it was just Swiss. Then I noticed the disappearing ink. ;)

I've started copying everything that I write since losing so many things to the "timed out" thing. The annoying thing about the timed out comments is that they are always the ones that you've put the most time and effort into.

I do it too. It's habit now, but I've lost lots of comments in the past. Some very confusing stuff. Lol!

Looks like McNair is leaning more towards retaining McNair at the conclusion of the season. I know the schedule was brutal, but we keep seeing a lot of the same mistakes being repeated over and over again. Also, I hate the fact that our guys are never motivated enough to put together two complete halves of football in one night. We have the ability to be sooo goood...that it hurts. The rants that I used to make at season's end about all of the improvements that we need to make, I can't even make anymore. I'm just tired, not throwing in the towel, but I am tired. I've never been a fan of tanking the rest of a season to secure a draft spot, but I do believe that we should take a look at some of our younger talent in certain areas and see what they can do. Give Orlovsky a game, and Leinart two. Let Andre stop forcing the issue on his ailing ankle and lets see what Jacoby and Dickson can do. Play Sharpton, Anderson, Nolan, and some of the other younger guys. We've already shut down more than a hand ful of key veterans on the season, and we currently sit at 4-9. There is no salvaging the rest of this season. It's time to do some analysis of what it is that we have, so we can know what we need to go after come draft time or via free agency.

Sorry to disagree, Reecey, but I believe that sends the worst possible message to the team. The focus must always be on winning, because once players lose that focus it's impossible to get it back. No matter what the score, the players must keep trying to win. Vince Lombardi said that the worst thing about losing is that it gets to be a habit. He was right. Never practice losing.

In spite of the record, the team has done a lot of things right. They have put in great effort, only to lose games to mental lapses at the last minute. They have refused to give up and have come from behind when far down. If you tell them that it was for nothing and that you aren't going to try to win the remaining games, how can you expect them to give their best efforts again?

I'm about ready to give anything a try at this point. I've read that he has expressed some interest in the job, because the team has talent and the owner is willing to pay big bucks. The Texans have great offensive weapons, but a non-existent defense. This is especially annoying because all but one first round draft choice in the team's history has been spent on defensive players.

CK, the Texans ARE on Cowher's list...as are the Dolphins (apparently). Not playing favorites here at all. Get your panties unbunched, sister.
