I wonder how long Brett is going to string things out this time? His team is practicing and he's teasing.

Aw, c'mon, Em--leave my boy alone. He just needs to know he's good to go, because you know that once he gets there, save for a career-ending injury (heaven forbid!), he'll be starting (and finishing) every game of the season. I just love watching him play (have I mentioned that before ;) )...

I have always really liked Favre. He has great enthusiasm for the game. Any team in the NFL would love to have him for their QB, except, maybe for a few. He gets a little too greedy sometimes and throws a few picks, but I guess thats what I like about him. I think he sits back every year and laughs his azz off at the media for blowing this up. If I was the Vikes I would just let him skip pre-season, because it seems he just wants to play the games that matter. After last season I don't think anyone could argue the point that he needs pre-season anyway. I don't watch much of the circus that surrounds him but I'm still gonna root for him. Afterall he's just a couple years older than me and can still sling the rock like he's in his early twenties. I try to throw a few passes with my son in the back yard and my wife has to rub my shoulder down with icee hot. I hope he comes back for another year. Makes me feel younger :D

I see that Albert Haynesworth finally passed his conditioning test and will be working out with the Redskins. Maybe now Dan Snyder can come out of hiding.

I think Haynesworth is nothing but trouble. I could be wrong, but I don't see him as a team player. I feel somewhat the same about the JETS' line-up. They have some awesome talent lined up over there, but I think (or is it hope) they have way too much ego going on there. I cannot see them working together like the well-oiled machine a team needs to be to survive. Maybe it is wishful thinking, but I don't know...

I was reading something taken from John Riggens radio show. (I realize that's second-hand hearsay, but I found it interesting). He said that Haynesworth played when he wanted to and took off when the team needed him. He said that a player like that was poison and that the Redskins should fire him.

Well, as much as I hate John Riggens, (that SB still hurts!)--I can't agree with him more. Although, it is fascinating to see what players that are considered rotten or unreliable in clinch situations change when they are with the right team. Chris Chambers was impossible when he was a Dolphin. He caught the most impossible passes EXCEPT when it was necessary for a big gain or a score--yet when he went to SD, he was a star. Ricky Williams? A true bust and miscreant with the (now famous ;) ) team from N.O., but in Miami--Gawd, I love that man! And so on, and so on, and so on...

That's a valid point, ck. The trouble is how to know that a change in surroundings can effect such a change. People keep hoping that T.O. will work out with their team, because he has so much talent. But he's proven more trouble than he's worth everywhere he's been. The notion that he and Ocho will produce together is comical.

I don't know what they were thinking putting two such demanding receivers together. I don't see anything but trouble there; however, I've been wrong before, Em.

LOL, if I had learned from all of my mistakes I would be omniscient. The only alternative to making mistakes that I know of is to refuse to make decisions. Fortunately I've never been one of those people who have to be right.

When I was younger, it was much more important to me that I be right about things. Now that I'm older, I am able to laugh at myself and not take things so seriously. It was a long time coming, though. I almost lost some very good friends over my insistence that I knew better than they; however, I'm happy to say, we worked things out (I ate a lot of crow in the process, lol) and they are still on my Christmas list. ;)

Last week, a woman claimed that Brett Favre texted shots of his “private parts” to her. At first he said he wasn’t gonna do it, then he did, then wasn’t going to again, then did…

That's strange. I heard it was David Boarneaz (or something like that--the star of "Bones,") who did that. Brett Favre thought it was so clever when David did it, that he thought he would do it as well)????

WTF is it with these guys and texting pictures of their weenies? I mean, really--how does the recipient know it's that particular person's weenie, unless, of course, they've slept with him or visited with him and his weenie. In that case, it should remain between the two of them (no pun intended :D , and the women ought to shut up and get on with it. I am so tired of these stories (and for all we know, they are just that--storied! And really, I'm not defending either of those guys, even though I adore them--I'm just so tired of all the b.s.!

If I were the woman who received the photos, I would threaten to publish them and make the guy the laughingstock of the country.

If he plays as well as he did last year, no one will give a rats ass.

Maybe have him appear out of a cloud of colored smoke? I like Brett's play, but I could do without the drama. Unfortunately football is show business, as much as I'd like to forget that.

LOL, at my age I don't know if I'm remembering things as they actually occurred or not. Just because the memory is remarkably vivid doesn't mean that it was real.
