The comments are going to be brutal out there in some of the sports blogs I'm guessing.

I won't guess at the motivations of others, but it wasn't the number of victories that the Yankees won that bothered me - I'm a lifelong Yankees fan. It was the way that George did business that turned me off. As I've suggested, I categorize him with Jerry Jones and Dan Snyder.

Since you're a lifelong Yankees fan, I'd imagine all the wins wouldn't bother you.. D'OH
There are many non-lifelong Yankee fans that I'm sure it bothered. Since I'm a lifelong Dodgers fan it bothered me, however it too was the way he did business to try and skirt whatever rules he could to get an advantage even if it was at the cost of paying huge fines or luxury taxes. His winning at all cost regardless of how it affected other MLB teams alone was enough to turn off the masses. (in my opinion of course)

I entirely agree. Even Yankees fans were unhappy with George's manipulations and felt that they tarnished the team's reputation.

I just had an early lunch of smoked boudain and it was wonderful! Good food makes life so much more enjoyable. It's a wonder that I'm not fat, but that just doesn't run in my family.

Ugh. I really hate the term "cougar." I've been accused of being one, but I have NOT pursued younger men, and I do believe that that is part of the description of a cougar. They have pursued me (and I think its just a fad).

The last thing that I need is a dating site. It seems that married couples can't stand their friends being single. All of them "know somebody" and think that I need to meet them. I date women my own age who have their own lives, live in their own homes and are accustomed to doing things their way. They have no desire to change and have to make accommodations for somebody else. We get along wonderfully well.

I agree. I've always considered the term cougar sexist. A man can date a woman a few years younger without causing comment. Of course if a man my age dated a young woman he would be called a dirty old man. I would call him a damn fool.

No problem. Sometimes it is hard to remember that she isn't still here. Five years later I've found myself looking around for her . Nobody could ever take her place.
