That would maybe work with a younger crowd. I'm only interested in the woman that I'm taking home.

There's a fire hose station in the hall.

Things have been kind of slow around here. Maybe we need to have a nickle beer night.

Lol! The karaoke bar that I usually go to on Sunday nights has $2.50 wells. You can even get Shiner for 2 dollars a glass. Needless to say, we get a cast of characters to accompany me upstairs and sing every song under the sun. LOL! I just hate when they insist on me going on stage with them for a song that I had no clue even existed before that night. The clueless look is not exactly a good look for anyone. So, I just offer my moral support while onstage, and try to have the chorus down after it's recited for the first time.

I'd be doing a convincing lipsync..... :D

Damn! I can remember when Shiner was only sold within a 70-mile radius of Shiner, Texas and cost twenty-five cents a bottle. You'd just walk into any Czech beer joint - in Danbury, El Campo, West Columbia, etc - and order a pivo (Czech for beer). They would bring you a Shiner without asking for a brand. If you brought along some sausage kolatches you would make friends fast. When I was doing graduate work in Wurtzburg, Germany I learned that the Czechs make the best beer in the world.

You guys need to drink for me, while I am laid up with this damned broken foot. I am going dingdong here, as I am not used to laying in bed all day like a lox...

I know how you feel, ck. I was immobilized for a while after I lost most of my left foot and I hated it. Hell, I've hated it when my car was in the shop!

It does suck, Em. My bones have always healed slow--even when I was young. Now that I'm old, who knows how long I'll be leg up, body down...

Reecey: The Dolphins have busted a lot of dreams this year as well, with no end in sight. We need all new, from owner on down, and that's not gonna happen for a long, long time. Owner lives in LaLa Land, and I can't even imagine what cluck he'll find to replace Sparano!

I lit the white candle (the Christ candle) on my Advent wreath today and I'll put up my Christmas tree this evening. Anglicans celebrate Christmastide from Christmas Day through January 5, ending it only with Epiphany on January 6. As a kid I had to wait a little longer to start celebrating the Christmas season than my school classmates, but when they found out that I got a Christmas present every day for twelve days they all wanted to be Episcopalians.

I'm playing my favorite recording of "Messiah," with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, Eileen Farrell soprano soloist and William Warfield the bass.

Happy New Year to you too, CK.

I am in a FANF***KINGTASTIC mood today!! My Hawks are in the playoffs for the first time in ... 3 years? They did it. They might be limping in, but they did it. They earned it. Even if they lose next Saturday, they are the division champs and it just goes to show the inspiration that Pete Carroll had over the team he and John Schneider rebuilt this year. No, it wasn't a pretty season. But we have many more seasons to come and I believe Pete Carroll is the coach to get us to the Super Bowl some day.

It's a new year. Today is a new day. I'm done with the bullshit of 2010 and I'm expecting God's best for me in 2011.

Have faith, dear LadyHawk. You can go on and on about Pete Carroll, John S, the team, whatever! I just HATE the Seahawks and love their opposition. I shall be rooting strongly against the Hawks come this Saturday...BOOOOO HAWKS!!!

LOL, I see that you believe that you can trick fate, ck. I never have believed that I was important enough that bad things would happen to people just because I liked them, or vice versa. The cosmos doesn't notice me.

ONCE in a saintly passion
I cried with desperate grief,
"O Lord, my heart is black with guile,
Of sinners I am chief."
Then stooped my guardian angel
And whispered from behind,
"Vanity, my little man,
You're nothing of the kind."

I was just about to mourn the fact that the Big Brother at Westin had blocked 16Forever, forever from coming back here when I got the news he's been unblocked and is back...
WELCOME BACK 16--I'm buying the next round of drinks here in your honor... :D <3
