Em... When you wrote about effortless singing ability it made me think of this little ten year old girl that was on America's Got Talent (we do not normally watch shows like that, but were drawn in) here name is Jacki Evancho, her voice is incredible if you close your eyes you would think it was a seasoned professional opera singer... She does not start to sing until about two minutes in... It is shocking

I'm sure. But I just have zero desire to "see" it. We have it here in Seattle; quite a community that loves it. Just not my taste.

It's something that you love immediately or you will never get it. If you do, the emotional experience is very strong. It can make the world go away. But to each his own. Personally, I find Country and Western music painful, but that's just me.

Not much of a crowd this morning. Everybody must be at work, the poor wretches.

I'm here, I'm here!!! I'd like one of those yummy Grey Goose (frozen, please) martinis--straight up, extremely dry and in a very large, but fine crystal cup...

Sorry to hear that Em... I have never been a big fan of Opera, but I am sure her music will live on

My mom sung with all the greats, kitty. She was in the Opera Guild of Miami (it has a much fancier name than that, but I can't think of it, my mind grows foggier and foggier...) I'm pretty sure she said Joan Sutherland was one of the bitches (there were many)--voice not withstanding... ;) Beverly Sills was one of the greats--she and my mom got along just fine. I know this because my mom never said a bad word about Ms Sills, and in fact, she called her 'a real lady.' <3

Well, we have a big roast. You can have it with sides or just as a loaded sandwich.

Good Evening, Emeritus. Nice to have someone to talk to here.
You know, speaking of opera (which I was :D , with kitty's help)--I'm not sure if I've mention this here in Switzerland--probably have, but oh, what the hell! My mom, as I said before to Kitty, was in the opera 29 years I believe. I want to say 27, but I believe 27 was how many years she and daddy had been married before she left him.
I have to talk fast, because any minute my hubby is going to commandeer his computer...
Anyway, many of them would be at my house, rehearsals, parties, all of that stuff--so I had the opportunity to see them as they were with their (long, heh heh) hair down. I hate to say it, but I hated the singing passionately. Could NOT stand to go to an opera performance (although I was forced to till I finally went away to college). Mommy always said she thought I hated it because of her. I thought she was just being her old drama queen self, but you know what? Since she passed, I LOVE opera. Strange, right? I kind of feel guilty about it. I had all those beautiful voices singing right in my own home and I didn't enjoy them until I was so much older...

Oh, about the food--just put a big slab of the roast on a plate WITH the sides. Thank you so much!

Sorry that I had to duck out. Talk of the roast reminded me that I needed to eat something before going to the high school football game this evening. I have to support the local boys.

WOW! 12 puppies... Hope all is well with the mom and pups!

I'm fine, Em--I was just working so hard for that Dolphin win yesterday, I couldn't blog and suffer at the same time. I'm around on and off this afternoon, though...

This place is deserted. It isn't like what Yogi Berra said about Toots Shore's - "Nobody goes there any more because it's too crowded.

There's no reserved seating here. Just make yourself at home and help yourself to everything. I don't know what time the staff shows up.
