Regarding tonight's game it comes down to the lesser of two evils...I'll take the Jets though. I'd like to see Favre have a breakdown. Plus I don't want to hear Beth whine if they lose.

Are you guys back together?

HA! That depends on what hour of what day you ask me. Yes, No, Maybe...?

Gotcha...*Sigh*

They certainly should. The Cardinals are showing how much of their success depended on Kurt Warner. They just aren't the same without him.

Sorry about your loss yesterday, 16F. Looks like you got your wish and Alex Smith is "out" ~ just probably not how you expected. Injuries suck.

They were saying on ESPN last night that if the 9ers go 1-7 that Singletary might lost his job. Right now he still has the "vote of confidence."

At least you have your Giants, right?

Sing has lost all control. For the next week it's all about the Giants!

I still think that the Niners are much better than they have been playing. I can't figure out what the problem is, but I wouldn't be surprised if they shocked somebody. If I remember correctly, they finished strong last year.

Ya know..."experts" keep saying that about the Cowboys. That logic does NOT compute with me. How can they be BETTER when they keep finding ways to lose? Is the idea that they are BETTER "on paper"? Big whoop, then. "On paper" doesn't matter. What matters is what happens on the field. And changes need to be made. The Cardinals changed QBs yesterday and immediately got a TD out of it. I'm seeing some stubbornness/ego on behalf of the Cowboys and/or 49ers when it comes to change. And that never gets anyone anywhere.

In the case of both teams, the talent level is high compared to how well they have played. I don't know if it is because their coaches can't get their best efforts, or if they lack locker room leadership or what, but they are too talented to play so poorly. Sometimes teams can come to accept losing. When that happens all that you can do is break up the team and rebuild.

So that tells me that "on paper" they are stacked with talent. Put them all together with the wrong coaches and wrong game plans and what you have is 1-6.... I guess I'm just tired of hearing the "experts" squawk about how GREAT the Cowboys are SUPPOSED TO BE and "what a shame" they have the record they do, blah blah blah. For those of us with a small market team, its nauseating all the "love" that is shown to the "big market" teams like the Cowboys, Steelers, et al.

That said...they showed Coach Carroll on the sideline yesterday giving HUGE pep talks to the Seahawks players. Our win wasn't pretty; our team struggled (especially on offense). But I have to give Coach Carroll TONS of credit; he has a "never give up" attitude and "its all about the ball" mantra and he is preaching it and teaching it. Ugly win - but the Hawks hung in there yesterday and won. Sure, 3-point scores aren't as sexy as a TD, but what mattered in the end was we got the W. We have LOTS to work on, that's for sure.

I'm just so proud to have the coach we have right now. He's made a huge difference in the attitude of our team.

Sing has had plenty of "locker room leadership" over his career, the problem is with his coaching abilities. Not all players can make good coaches. Now if he took on a defensive coordinator job, he may still excel at it.

What we know for sure is that he could play middle linebacker. They would always show shots of him from behind the quarterback. He would keep moving from side to side, with his eyeballs wobbling around. He looked like he was stoned (it was really just an eye problem) and homicidal. Sometimes quarterbacks would look at him and drop the ball.

I'm trying to think of successful coaches who made All Pro as players. So far I've come up with two.

They are the only two that I can think of who made All Pro as players and coached Super Bowl-winning teams. There may be many others, but I can't think of any off hand.

You can add Tony Dungy to that list.

I certainly respect Tony as a coach, but I was unaware that he made All Pro as a player. Did he make it as a Steeler or as a Niner?
