Their teams have just been around longer, LadyHawk. Imagine being the fan of a team that had been around since the beginning and still hadn't won once. We could be Lions fans, for example.

I just looked up the Detroit Lions (formed in 1930). And lookeee there...before the AFL/NFL merger, they won 4 National Football League Championships.

1935
1952
1953
1957

That's 4 rings people. Do those NOT count by today's standards?

They are rings but they don't count for Superbowl rings. Just sayin'. :o

So I was just told...since the Super Bowl wasn't started until 1967.

And good morning Steve.

My team only has 2 SB rings. All I cared about was just getting 1 in my lifetime. The other was just gravy on top. I am certain that your Seahawks will get one someday. The Lions... may not happen in several lifetimes.

Well I've been a fan of the Seahawks since their inaugural season. 34 years later...no rings. I guess I am more patient than I give myself credit for.

GOOD AFTERNOON, SWITZERLAND!

Hey kicks and Lady--I was a very lucky person--sort of. The Dolphins came onto the scene in 1967 (or some time around there) and within 5 years they were SB Champs and nearly three-peated--then continued to be play-off caliber for many years, with QBs that were amazing to watch right up till Danny was retired (way before his time!). Unfortunately, since then (with that one exception a couple of years ago), they can't even say "play-off."

You guys are breaking my heart. My team never even had a winning season until last year. They have only been around since 2002, but we were wondering if we were ever going to get out of last place in our division. I'm fully enjoying being alone in first place while it lasts.

Thanks, LadyHawk. I'm going to be grateful for every win and not get down about the losses. All that I've ever asked for is improvement and the Texans have gradually (very gradually) been getting better.

I agree. Most Texans fans were Oiler fans before that, and many of us cried for the Oilers to no avail for decades. And to make things worse, the bastages went to the SB shortly after leaving Houston grrrrrr.

Back on track. I am still happy as a pig in slop that Houston actually got a winning season last year. Being humble about success is the way to go. I hope Houston does good this year, but we'll leave that up to the football Gods.

I'm with you on that, Emeritus. Especially this season with a new head coach and so many new players. I don't like drama so I'm not shedding any tears or getting upset. That's my choice.

That's a very grown up attitude. People buy themselves upsets by having unreasonable expectations. Naturally I'm not talking about just football, of course. It's fine to be optimistic, but it isn't wise insist that our every dream come true in order for us to be happy.

Yeah SS! That was supposed to be our Superbowl Heart Break! Yeah I wanted it! I wanted to cry them tears, and watch my hopes dwindle with a reach that was a foot too short! :x I hope we never have to go through losing another team again. At least not our football team. I don't want to feel like LA and Cleveland. A team leaving hurts everything! The local economy and everything!

Yeah it does. We had a little team leave here a couple of years back called the SuperSonics. *Sigh*

And then Oklahoma City is a fast rising team right now too. It's just so messed up that it's not where they were originally rooted. Sorry Vic. :(

I got the dolphins pegged to beat the Jets. No Revis means no quality cover guys. Lito Shephard is a no, and the new rookie certainly can't cover Brandon Marshall.

Good shot TT. I forgot all about Cromartie. I don't know how either. I think he's got like two picks so far this season.

I hope so too SS. We have to beat all the NFC East teams. So, we can flex some AFC Muscle.
